It worked well the first time. Let's do it again. In fact, let's have 2.
Professor R.H. Gilmer has posted the following on his site, SouthernBilliards.com.
Following is the updated information on the Ring-Games to be held during the Spring Fever Tournaments.
The purpose of this post is simply to provide updated information on the ring games and, as such, replies or posts can not be made to it.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
$4,000 INVITATIONAL PROGRESSIVE RING GAME
9 pm Friday April 23rd, 2004; $500 Entry
Currently the confirmed entries are:
Sam Gilmer, Starkville, MS;
Nicklos Hickerson, Manchester, TN;
Harold McAbee, Tuscaloosa, AL;
Coach Keith, Starkville, MS;
Will "Creole" Perry, Magnolia Springs, AL;
Chuck Raulston; St. Louis, MO; and
Nic Vita, Memphis, TN
Obviously, the speed of the players in this game is somewhat less than that of the players in the $1,500 entry ring game, and thereby, the list of potential players is non-exhaustive and far to long for me to list or actually invite each one. Thus, if you or someone you know is interested, don't hesitate to contact me regarding possible entry. I may be reached at 662-323-7665 or Professor@SouthernBilliards.com. Even though players may have been invited, once eight players have committed, entry will be closed.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
$12,000 INVITATIONAL PROGRESSIVE RING GAME
8 pm Saturday April 24th, 2004; $1,500 Entry
Currently the confirmed entries are:
Bobby Pickle, Nashville, TN;
Brian Groce, Columbus, IN;
David Matlock, Poplur Bluff, MO;
George Breedlove, Indianapolis, IN;
John Drew Hager, San Antonio, TX; and
John "Lil John" Marcias, Hattiesburg, MS.
Eric Durbin, Middletown, OH;
Beyond the above confirmations, the players invited to play in the $1,500 entry ring game are: Jamie “The Red Rifle” Farrell; Jonathan Hennessee; Danny “Kid Delicious” Basavich; Buster Merchant; Keith McCready; David 'G' Gutierrez; Charles Shannon “Hillbilly” Bryant; Andy Quinn; and Tony Watson.
Once 8 players have committed to play, the remaining invitations outstanding will be withdrawn.
Others may be added, and there is no limit on the caliber of player that may be invited to this game, only the character of the player is the limiting concern. In that spirit, if you know of a player that would like to be invited, don’t hesitate to call, or have them call, and talk with me in full confidence. I will only state those that have been invited, not any that were not. Again, I may be reached at 662-323-7665 or Professor@SouthernBilliards.com.
I want good players that are good sports that are fun and entertaining to watch. Basically, I don’t want any jerks in the game. You can, and will hear bad things about us all and I did with many of the players that participated in the first ring-game here back in October but, that group displayed a level of sportsmanship I had never before witnessed in a pool game of such consequence. That is what I would like to duplicate.
