I believe there are two reasons why I was able to get out. 1. practice, practice, practice. 2. Playing for nothing, it didn't really matter if I made them or not. So, I was totally free to totally free my mind and give each shot my best shot. I didn't hinder myself by putting a lot of pressure on myself to 'have' to make them. Although, on the 9, that pressure did start to creep in. Who want to make that 7 & 8 and then miss the 9?? I immediately removed that pressure from my mind, and gave it my best shot, and made it.
I feel that what I did, which we all have done at times, is what we all need to do more. Relax, have fun, and just give each shot our best effort. Hard to do with a lot of money on the line, but the best of us have learned to do just that, so the rest of us can too.
I agree about the no stress aspect-its just very hard for me to free the mind that much in pressure situations.
I left you a 'wachagoinnado?' in the test area where there was a wacky out.
In this case the two factors in play were 1) no money involved and 2) there's something wrong with me.
Take care Neil-your layout/run out examples are always teachable moments since they are usually actual game situations. I always enjoy the solutions suggested by the more knowledgeable forum members.
