on the stream....

Reyes is great at balkline.

He is? How would you know that? I don't know of any 3-Cushion table in the Philippines. Maybe there is and Efren plays all the time.

Star Billiard Center in Quezon CIty used to have one in 2009 but it isn't there anymore. Perhaps that table was sold and Efren bought it for his house.

The balkline exhibition between Ceulemans and Reyes is good stuff! How can you claim to be a fan of cue sports and not witness this?

Reyes personal high run in 18.1 balkline...198

Very good, but like I said "Caudron says call me when he runs 300". And that's because game is 300, which Caudron has done often. I do not know where 198 places in the hierarchy of balkline play. Maybe 200 is rare and maybe it isn't to a great balkline player.

Hoppe high run...622

Please allow me to make myself clear, so that no one has any misconceptions. I think Efren is the greatest cueist EVER, and he could have chosen any game to be great. He chose rotation. He has shown his skill on all levels. Balkline might be his "best game" but he has a LONG way to go. So give the OTHER players who are at the top of their respective games their due rather than assuming Efren is automatic in their game too.

Since we are making things clear, it was, in fact, you who questioned Efren's knowledge of Balkline, was it not? Shouldn't any
sincere attempt at clarity contain at the very least a mention of how very wrong you were with that particular assumption?

In passing, there are more than a few people who know the difference
between a Registered Nurse and a Balkline nurse. Some even know there
was not only a Jake Schaefer, who was a "Wizard" not just a mere
"Magician", but also a Jake Schaefer, Jr.

No I was questioning those who thought Efren was a big deal assuming he was the sh^t simply because he's Efren saying balkline is his best game. 14.1 is my best game and I ran a cr@ppy 92. Just because it's my best game doesn't mean I'm "great". And Efren doesn't need you to defend him so I don't have to make amends to you or anyone here.

... Mr. Blomdahl prevailed 35-12 in 13 innings (12 for Mr. Reyes), sparked by one great inning in which he scored 16 billiards! ...

The awards presentation for the 3-cushion event (Verhoeven Open) was streamed at the conclusion of the event yesterday. It was mentioned that the high run for the entire tournament was 14.

So in his exhibition Saturday night with Reyes, Blomdahl had a run (16) that exceeded anything anyone achieved in the actual tournament. I guess Reyes isn't always lucky!

[FYI -- In the 3-cushion tournament finals, Pedro Piedrabuena defeated Torbjorn Blomdahl 40 - 37 in 29 innings (28 for Mr. Blomdahl). After being behind 22 - 11, Blomdahl surged to a 27 - 33 lead only to be outscored 13 - 4 the rest of the way. High runs were 6 for the winner and 7 for the loser, both in the 13th inning.]

Obviously, deflection is your best game.

I guess the English language must be your worst game, next to honesty.

it was a real pleasure to watch Raymond Ceulemans against Efren reyes at 71/2 !! Raymond stopped to play the "small" games many years ago , so such match is gold !! if you recorded the stream, archive it preciously !

But in fact, even they are great champions, their average (6.25 for Efren , 6.33 for Raymond) in this 71/2 match is unsually low ... I have to admit that i was very dispointed by the averages ... An international 71/2 player plays >30 average ...

short about 47/2 (=18/2 in inchs) balkline and 71/2 balkline : there is a world between the 2 games . 71/2 is much, much, much harder. So hard than in many european countries , 71/2 tournaments are reserved to A+ & Master players only , when 47/2 tournaments are avaible for C , B, and >A players ...

Efren 198 high run at 47/2 can sound impressive (it is , when you play this game you know how hard it is to reach 200) , but in fact it is far to be enough to beat the top european players like Pierre Soumagne , Frederic Caudron or patrick Niessen, as for example ... check patrick Niessen's general averages , you'll understand what I mean : http://www.kozoom.com/fr/billard-carambole/players/niessen-patrick.html

Raymond Ceulemans is 75 years old.

How many pool players at 75 years old compare to their prime?

As for Efren, he is not a professional carom player and he is also not a spring chicken in his own right.
