Steve is also planning a qualifier in Rushville. You can call him at the number in original post to find out the date.

No qualifier, Jim. Unless there is a B Nationals that I am unaware of. Only had one person seem interested in the Nationals this year. Now, if the USBA has a B Nationals, I could probably get 20 players, easy.

I agree John. A B Nationals is something we should do. Must it necessarily be in conjunction with the National Nationals?

I can see arguments both ways.

Thoughts?

John; if billiards in this country is to go forward we need to cultivate more B players into possibly A players. They need to compete with their peers for their own Championship. Part of this going forward for the B players is proper instruction to elevate their game to a higher level.

I would imagine if there were a USBA B National Championship it would draw 75-100 players, with reasonable entry fees and a central location for ease of travel. A portion of the entry fees from the B National Championship could be held to help subsidize the prize fund for the USBA Nationals

Depending on the number of entrants, the WINNER plus X amount would be allowed to play in the USBA National Championships along with the already SEEDED and A players.

Mind you, this OMHO of what need to be done to make the USA recognized by the rest of the 3 cushion billiard community Worldwide!

ZEN. I believe it should be done prior to the A Nationals so that the top, say, 3 players(depending on the number of players) can make arrangements to get to the Nationals. Plus playing through a B tournament and then going right into the A would be certain death. HaHa.

BILL AND ZEN: I agree that you only get better by playing and observing better players, but some people have jobs and families and are realistic about their limitations. But many of these people still LOVE the game and LOVE competing a few times a year. It would increase the membership, I believe. Increase membership of B players anyway, and that could lead to more tournaments, tables and that increases exposure.

I don't claim to have the perfect scenario for the B Nationals, but I hope we can figure something out next year. J

B Tournament

Steve and J.J. You can do it.One reason is many more B players then A players. I'll help out any way I can.Let's get it done. I know I can get at least 4 players from MD. That's a start.

Hey FE & JJ,

Had some conversation with Andy Janquitto. It's premature to divulge any info but if the stars line up we may see a B Nationals in 2013.

Andy is a hard worker and is on board with having a B Nationals.

Stay tune my friends.

Rumor

Rumor has it that serious discussion is under way about a B Nationals. A unnamed source may step up to the plate and bring this to fruition. The stars still may need to align but I wouldn't bet against it.:shrug:

My intention is not to de-rail the discussion on the great tournament in Rushville, Il. I wish I could be there.
