Yes Bob,

I believe it is, But it's long for everybody , (columbia, peru, mexico.....)
But Why the Usba is sending nobody!
Why all the federation around the world is paying for their CHAMPIONS!

The Belgian federation is not paying for Caudron. The Dutch federation is not paying for Jaspers. Turkey is not paying for Cenet. Spain is not paying for Sanchez. The players sent as either seeded players or wild cards get their travel and hotel and entry paid for by the organizer, and they are guaranteed some prize money.

Last year, when US players did better at the CPB championships, Pedro Piedrabuena and Hugo Patino received wildcards from the CPB for one or two events. That meant that the organizer of the event, not the USBA, had to pay for their expenses.

For the USBA to send US players to more events, two things have to happen: the USBA Board needs to have more money and it has to decide that sending players to WorldCups is the best way to spend that money to promote carom.

Bob,

I know that ! that's the old story ,

you are talking about the top players , what about the rest 100 to150 players!
It's not paid by the organizer with guaranteed money !!! it's paid by the FEDERATION . spain pay for

By the way , last year the USBA paid for Pedro and some of the board proposed to pay the food for PEDRO!!!

How do you like it ?

I am sure you contributed a lot for the game , and helped a lot ( & you still) but for some reason , you quit as well as Dieckman as Bruce ....who's next?

Everybody has excuses for quiting ( very simple).

Hi Fox,
Your not right, except for the top players everybody has to pay for thereselve. This is also the reason that everbody wants to be in the top 12 at the rankinglist.
The dutch federation doen't pay for any players.

Many players are paid not only from their federations but also from brands like Layani-Longoni-Gabriels etc. Most of them have some profits from their club too.For sure they will never get rich from 3c billiard as from snooker or pool but they can play in all the big worldwide events for sure. Here in Greece in the middle of the economy crisis we will have a group of eleven!players with bigger then 1.0 M.O in Turkey next month.
The distance for sure is a problem for U.S players, but how many of you are intending to play in the grand prix in Mexico? In which level?
I am just curious.
(My feeling is that you dont like carom enought anymore......)

Filippos KASIDOKOSTAS club KOZOOM

Dick JASPERS club Van Donge en de Roo

Frédéric CAUDRON AGIPI
Crystal Kelly
BC Kasteeldreef Lovendegem
BC Gandia
BC Elversberg
Sporting Portugal

Torbjörn BLOMDAHL BK Borgen (DK)
Van Wanrooij (NL)
Laxou (FR)

I don't have time to list all the players & their clubs !

Therese , you are missing the point (what do we have in the US) nothing?
Even worldwide , therese the cue maker doesn't pay enough ! Euro 6000 -8000/year maybe for a good player , the club pay for lodging and food all the time , and good luck with the airfare tickets !
You are right that some of the players pay for their expenses !( most of us do).

I am again not looking for the top 12 players .
We should find a way to get more players ( beginners , from school, college.....) to play the game and have a great sponsors , I am sure it's not rocket science , but somebody has to make the move .

PAIKTOURA

I m 100 % agree with what you are talking about , UNFORTUNATELY,
a lot of player don't carom internationally anymore ( that's because our level sucks ) lolllll,

If you have time read the article

I agree with almost everything Mr Smith had written so many years ago.But you should read, think and ACT.It is very easy to say the obvious and hard to make them true.I already know that you are going to run a big grand prix in Vegas in a few months.Dont you believe that you should send Pedro and somebody else to all the main events until then? Not only to see your flag but to promote the Vegas case as well? MONEY? 200 FANS OF 3C *20$ = 4000$....The Las Vegas organisation should give money to get back money too....
I am just a 3C FAN
