??????????

I'm getting sick of the people who just don't get it. So you know what, for here on in I just don't give a s**t. You guys want anarchy? You got it! Have fun as I am tired of trying to explain things to people without the intelligence to understand my words.

So, to paraphrase:

1 - Everyone is dumb and I'm tired of teaching what's what
2 - I don't care anymore [I have my doubts on that one]
3 - The world will explode without me [A miracle the world ever survived before Monstermash came to save the day]
4 - Everyone is dumb and I'm tired of teaching what's what [repeated because everyone was too stupid to understand that the first time]

There is a lot of comedy gold in this. Thanks.

I will go ahead and add my recent episode to this thread. I am a very new member to this site even though I have been a LURKER for a year or so. I was involved in a possible cue purchase over the last 2 days. Apparently I did something wrong and was red repped by a longtime member. I DID NOT do anything INTENTIONALLY to bump a thread but that is indeed what happened. While trying to find out information from the seller, I apparently violated the bumping rules. I certainly understand the spirit of the bumping rules but if this member had taken just an extra minute to PM me, he would have saved me A LOT of embarrassment. I had to have personal friends get involved on my behalf to remove the red rep. To publicly embarrass someone because of their unintentional violation of the rules is mean spirited. I will think long and hard before I get involved with this site again.

It sucks that you had a bad experience because of one over-protective forum member, but writing the whole place off as a result seems short-sighted as well.

I dont even know you, and I would have fixed your rep issue for you, quickly. There are a lot like me who would have done the same. There are far more good things about this forum than bad. Give it another shot. (I don't speak for how the For Sale forum works, I don't use it.)

The good news is that you were able to have friends send some green rep which is double the points of a red rep,
Like I said before, it shouldn't come down to this.
I hope it isn't happening all the time, and we just don't hear about it.
Don't let it keep you away though, maybe this will be a wake up call for somebody to take control of their forum.

My observation is that Monstermash has always meant well with how he tries to share info with new users. I also understand his frustration that stems from watching his threads get buried.

However, there are a handful of forum cops that simply have a lunch lady syndrome. It's a little disturbing actually. They do not have good intentions. Somehow spreading red rep around and being condescending makes them feel better...but not for long as they seem to be at it constantly. And they occasionally break the rules. WTF?

I still maintain that being on page one doesn't matter. In fact, one of my long dead threads just generated an inquiry. You see, new threads or newly bumped threads are bold faced in my browser. I also stumbled on a search function. It works wonderfully so long as people spell correctly (kidding, Jim!). When I log on, I scroll past page one and stop when I run out of bold-faced thread titles.

Does being on page one really matter?
