39 ball run!!!!!!!!!

Nice run Ricky.

I like the way you seperated those two stripe balls without distrubing the breakball at the end of rack one. Great end pattern at the end of rack two.

Keep it up.

Nice shooting Rick. Here are some comments if you don't mind listening:

Rack 1 - You should consider removing the 5 and the 9 from the side pocket a little sooner than you did. I've learned over the years that two balls by the side (and sometimes even just one) can often handcuff you more than help you. They make it difficult to shoot balls in the rack area into that side pocket, which can be a problem.

I like how you went from the 8 to the 14, without having to disturb that cluster. Very nice.

Rack 2 - I'd play the breakshot with a tad more speed than you did. You're going in at a great angle with virtually no scratch risk. You played it at a speed where you could have conceivably gotten safe. Still, you hit it nice and smooth, which is more important than speed.

I would have played the 4 a little more carefully (at 5:26 into the video), as you got a little rough on your next shot and it didn't look like you really had to.

Very nice end pattern, as Marop noted.

Rack 3 - Break is perfect.

I don't like the secondary break with the 2 so early (at 7:51). There are simply too many balls already on the end rail, and you're moving the clustered balls right towards them. I did see that you took care to not hit them too hard, but there is just too much of a chance here that you create a real disaster on that rail with the shot on the 2. Even though it didn't exactly happen doesn't mean that it couldn't have happened.

I think I would have started this rack with the 10-7-8-1, etc... This removes a lot of the problem balls right from the get-go, which is a real plus. I look for patterns like this sometimes, where you can go from problem ball to problem ball. The "look" of the rack after doing something like this can really flesh out nicely after just a few shots.

I'd have tried to slow down towards the middle of this rack, as it's obvious that you've got some problems to deal with and the balls just aren't cooperating so much. Take your time and work it out.

Overall, your patterns were really nice. Keep it up Rick!

- Steve
