44 Breaks & Only 3 Chances

Just got done racking and breaking racks of 9-Ball on my Gold Crown IV. I counted and I broke 44 racks and only had three decent chances to run out. I got out once and hosed up the two others.

This has been going on for years and years and years. I know you posters are sick and tired of hearing it. But I've just about reached my wits end with this GCIV. It has to be a bad breaking table. And even when I did make a ball almost every time I had a real bad spread, literally no chance at all.

I guarantee you that if my renters decide they don't want to renew my upstairs apartment above my garage for storage next year I am going to get a Diamond Professional table. I've just had it with this GCIV. And yes, like I said in the other thread, that means I will have two home tables. Once I convince myself the Diamond Professional is a better playing table I will either just keep both or try and sell the GCIV.

Stay tuned...........

Do what I did. Block the pockets and turn it into a nice 9’ billiards table.

I didn't think to mention that I am prepared to haul off that GCIV that it is impossible to break balls on for expenses and a very nominal fee.

Play onepocket
You dont have to make a ball
just get it close and protect it……😊

I am going to try and get to the Mall in Evansville tomorrow. I believe they have some Diamond tables there. I am going to try and play on their 9-foot table. I believe it's a Pro Am. I want to see if I get the same horrible spreads and lack of making balls on it like I do on this GCIV.

Hu,
Maybe in another year my GCIV might be available for a fair price. I'll keep you in mind. And don't worry, if I do decide to sell it I won't be asking $4,000. Be well less than that.

Maybe you should find someone who knows how to play and invite them to your house to show you.

Not funny fuggles. I've been a student of this game for over 25 years. I know how to play.

And just so you will know......I tried doing what you suggested with players from Evansville. I got blown off, nobody wanted to help. So much for the brotherhood.

If a decent set of balls are on top of quality cloth all on a slate bed the balls will act the same no matter the table manufacturer until they hit the rails. Are your rails tight, rubber good? Do they seem to spread nicely but die off the cushions?
Just for fun see if there’s a difference if you break from the opposite end. Probably going to have to post a video
I know the slate could be from different countries but shouldn’t cause this to happen

I had new SuperSpeed cushions installed a few years ago.

It has Simonis 860.

The are Belgium Aramith balls. The Crown set.

Rails are tight. They don't die off the cushions.

It has Brazilian slate. Which has always been a concern of mine as I was hoping for Italian.

If you never leave a good layout after your break, your opponent won't be able to run the table when you break dry, so you should have at least some measure of success.

Yeah I know the slate I have a 9’ GC IV also but don’t have break problems

I wasn't trying to be funny. If no one local will help then there are some instructors who will do zoom or other remote instruction. imo you clearly need someone to help you. And it isn't going to happen on a forum.
