With the Open using the MC breaking format, I believe you will see USA having fewer dry breaks. No longer an issue as it was 4-5 years ago.
Also wasn't Hohmann left off the year he won World 9-ball ? I think around 2013.

Here's my take, after sweating about 75 hours of US Open match play.

Ralf Souquet....8 outta ten all day long.
Nick Van Den Berg....Really close to game on.
USA
Shane Van Boening....On his game.
Billy Thorpe....On his game.
Skyler Woodward....On his game.
Dennis Hatch....8 like Souquet, with that Scowl.
Oscar Dominguez....On his game.
That's how I see the overall demeanor of each player. Vandenberg can play top notch, as can Thorpe and Skylar. Filler is dangerous in any situation. It all may come down to Ralph and Hatch.

As strong as team USA is (+Johann as a coach on their side) I cant see them beating team Europe this year. My prediction is that it will be tense battle all the way with Europe winning all 3 days 3:2 coming with 9:6 lead into the 4th day. Then team USA will surge a strong come back to 9:8 while team Europe will win last two matches 5:4 (Dennis Hatch will hook himself when playing position for 8 at 4:4) to get another overall victory :thumbup:

At this moment/in this season, yes the other 5 picked players are the better/more constant players. But this is only for this season, the fight for the MC places are huge in Europe every year.
All I know is, I am glad they are not 12 man teams like the Ryder Cup in golf. We would really get steamrolled then. Europe is super strong in rotation pool and getting stronger all the time.

Yes, it was 2013 and Toastie was left off, but Europe won 11-2...so it was not the badest decision :wink: .
