48th All Japan 2015 (11-15Nov2015) (10ball) Amagasaki, Japan

Who mentored him and taught him perfect fundamentals?
He shoots like a German. I kid you not.

I met J Chua here in VN, he played pool since he was 10, and was among the most well-coached youngsters in Philippines. He spent years practicing fundamentals before he was allowed to play tournaments and money matches.

His coach is Mr. Edgar Acaba, vice president of Philippines Pool Association (this position may not be precise as it slipped my ears).

That explains it. Edgar has a smooth stroke.
Thanks.

It's likely that they will release the later rounds on dvd. The only way to get them would be to have a subscription to cues magazine.

i dont have any sources yet of the finals video from last year's championship. been looking. :(

Just a terrible player. Guy finishes second in the world championships and third here. He's a bum.

Remind me of how many US Open titles Chua and Alcano have? What's wrong with those guys can't they win a major in America?? Are they overrated?

Shane played horrible in his match against Chua and Chua played nearly flawless with superglue safeties.

Shane is the second highest money earner this year so far. (Pagulayan's list is skewed because of a gambling match being reported)

Appleton got 98,000 from one event. Shane's earnings came from many more wins and high finishes.

In ten years Shane has gone from earning $6800 in 2005 to earning more than a million dollars in pool winnings. Yeah, he is "overrated".

People should feel lucky that he doesn't win more overseas and take even more money out of those tournaments.

i was backreading WPA threads and saw this post.

as i remember, Chua has beaten Ko twice in all of their matches. august of last year, chua beat Chang Yu-Lung 9-1. shane has not beaten any of these two taiwanese players?

As for the US Open, Alcano hasnt won any. But he was actually in the finals when Shane won his first title. The year after that he was also in the finals, lost to Mika. Ronnie has won two world championship titles though, out of three world championship finals appearances. He also has 4 Asian titles. Do you see the difference between him and Shane?

As for Chua, he was supposed to play the US Open last year, but got denied of a US Visa. This is his 2nd time to be denied of a visa. Obviously, he cant "win a major in America". He won the Japan Open though after beating Shane and Alcano. If he did not get a bad roll on the hill against Shane, the score would have been 11-4. LOL (reminds me of that China Open quarters when Biado beat Shane 11-4).
