48th All Japan 2015 (11-15Nov2015) (10ball) Amagasaki, Japan

He's not good enough to beat those guys. Plus the don't care about his reputation.

You're wrong here! Those "guys" are not anxious to match up with Shane when he is in The Philippines. I don't see any of them running after him to make a game. He kicked Ronnie's butt last time he was there (more than once!), plus beat a couple of the other young champs. Surely you must remember this since it happened earlier this year.

Why can't Shane win anything outside US? What the **** is goin on?

Bridesmaid dilemma right now in the international events.
I remember, before winning the US Open in 1994, Efren was known as the " Manila Folder " and had the bridesmaid dilemma too.

So what kind of chance do you give Dennis ,, I think if his breaks not vastly improved he needs 30 games or better on the wire

As long as SVB will always place at the top 4 he can sustain his international tour. The only US player who has the guts to take on the world.

I would like to include Hunter Lombardo to the list....
...he gets out there and mixes it up.

^same thing they did last year - maybe because Oi Naoyuki lost and the non-Japanese Faraon was the victor.

Just to be accurate though, I recall reading a post by you that Shane rejected an offer to play Dennis in the Philippines in the past. When was that?

Does "Bubwit" have a meaning? What does his nickname mean in English?

Bubwit means mouse or small mouse....I think it's also a cartoon character...(Mickey?)
.....he's a mouse that knows how to get the cheese, apparently

As a kid, he was often brought to the pool hall. he'd play and run tag with the other kids. it's a very typical pool hall scene here in the Philippines - kids running, passers-by and videoke singers. Somehow, it became his playground. At the same time his pool skills were honed. When they said "bubwit" (a mice), it referred to that small kid who loves to run around the pool hall and run racks as well.

Word on the street is Johann Chua has only been playing pool for 4 yrs. So theres hope for all those aspiring to be pro's on the forum.

"Afterward Chua revealed that he’s been playing pool for ten years, mostly gambling in Manila’s hard core money-game scene and entering tournaments when he can."

That was in 2013, from this article: http://www.wpa-pool.com/web/index.asp?id=17&pagetype=event_news&eventid=157&eventnewsid=158

So that would put him at about 12 years now.

nah. he's been playing since he was 12-13 years old. if you recall in 08 or 09, after Ko Pin-Yi won his 2nd Junior World Title against Jericho Banares, they set up a match between Chua and Ko. It went hill-hill and Chua won.

Jk. I'm just goofing around b/c of all these threads about wanting to play at pro level within 5yrs of playing pool.

Who mentored him and taught him perfect fundamentals?
He shoots like a German. I kid you not.
