Always a great event, even if not as lauded as some of the others. This event deserves Mosconi Cup points!

My thinking, and I'll find out this year is this. Since they are redoing the convention area at the reservation location to make it BETTER than ever, plus this years event being off site....will give them the type of room setup that will allow them to take it to this next level. I'm hoping....and knowing Ray, they'll probably have the ability to have lighting for each table, and I'm sure allot more good things to make it better for the game and the players.

Hey Ray, a Friend of mine was kicked out the last tournament and off the property for smoking a joint in the parking lot.

The Native fellow that he was sharing a joint with got to stay. Along with the other group of Natives that were also smoking joints at the same time.

Unfortunately, my Friend was White, the others not. Highly discriminatory. He lost his entry fee, Hotel room wasn't refunded. And he was escorted off the Native owned property.

Can you have him reinstated? Or at least explain why a White Man would be treated like this and not the same for Natives.

Yeah, I know, the White Man is an A Hole considering what he did. But that was a very long time ago.

Apparently your security staff don't think so.

smoking

I know who you are talking about and the incident, it's not a race thing , he was 86'd from casino property per casino policy. I worked for security and surveillance and know they don't care wat race you are, if your bringing drugs, doing drugs, cheating or breaking the tribal , state, or casino laws and rules they will enforce policy. Your friend is lucky they didn't call the police like they usually do. They only seen him smoking it and have it so that is why he was the only one 86'd. Has he called to see if he is off the list? Also I am sure and know in the past people who have been 86'd can right a letter asking to be reinstated, and were.....I will check on his status, pm me name and I can see what I can do if he would like to attend. But just to clarify , natives,Hispanic, and all races and persons wpuld of got treated the same.

I will PM you Ray. As far as I know, it was permanent. You know how stories go.

If he was ejected, I wondered why the Native person who he was smoking with wasn't as well. I also am a Friend of the Native guy who he was with. Apparently, there was also a group of Natives standing close by who were also partaking.

Two sides to every story, but if you were to go by the one that I heard, then it sounds like it was discriminatory. Even with that, if not too far fetched, I believe that a different conclusion could have been reached on this one. Rules are rules, not disputing that. Just that they have to be fairly enforced.

I thought that considering, first offense, a warning might have been satisfactory. Either they all go or no one goes.

Could have been considered a Sweet Grass Ceremony in the parking Lot.

If I am not mistaken, both American and Canadian Natives are known to use a bit of Peyote in a Sweat too.

No one is totally innocent.

Thank you for looking into this Ray as I know this person and many of my Friends have been going to Four Bears for some time and thoroughly enjoy it.

I truly believe from talking with my Friend, it is seriously a lesson learned and wouldn't happen again.

Dont see why your buddy can't play this year since its not on the reservation. I'm not suprised at the discrimination though and I am a native who lives close to the rez.

Thanks Big Chief and Thank You Ray, for the messages and your effort on this. Nice of you to say this Chief. Many of Chad's and my Friends are Canadian Natives, and if anyone knows what discrimination is, they do. Sometimes a person has to be taught a lesson or walk a mile in someone else's shoes or moccasins to learn.

I talked to Chad this evening and he is sincere and won't let you down in the future should he be allowed back on the 4 Bears property.

I don't know if you sent him an AZ message but told him he should check in and speak with you as I obviously can't be a go between. He needs to discuss this any further with you.

Again, Thanks for the consideration on this Ray. It is obviously why the 4 Bears Tourney is a continued success. Chad had pretty much given up on returning and at least, this is a bit of hope on the positive side.

All my best.
Terry.
