> I talked to my instructor today and although this screw is listed in the handbook,he said he had never heard of an Acme screw under 3/8-12. The shop he worked for before becoming a teacher, according to him,has a selection of taps that might be unrivaled,he said they had 4 56" Snap-On cabinets filled top to bottom with oddball sizes ranging from so small they can only be used on eyeglass frames,to some over 3". He said he would look into it,then recommended calling Widell and seeing if they might have it in stock in case he can't find one. If I can find the tap, making a simple, solid wood, phenolic or delrin set of 3 won't be a problem, there is no doubt in my mind I can either make the screws manually,or have my instructor Jeff CNC one. If I make it myself,I'll make it long enough for you to get what need for 2 male protectors, plus enough I can make a lathe pin for this size. My email is
