5 Balls on the Break ! Watch

It's always a pleasure watching SVB break up the racks. It reminds me of Gene " The Machine" Littler in Golf. He was a machine like SVB.

Nice video. Watching it looks like the cue ball is actually "flying" into the 1. Do most pro's who break have the cue ball leave the table? Or is that just an optical illusion.

Cheers,
Brad

It's up in the air when it strikes the head ball that's why it pops straight up in the air after contact with the head ball

Not just the pros--anyone who shoots a hard break causes the cue ball to go airborne on the way to the rack. The reason is that you're always shooting down on the cueball slightly due to the height of the rail you're shooting from. This results in the cueball rebounding slightly from the table surface--in essence you're shooting a mild jump shot. This is why the cueball often flies off the table on a very hard break.

Who cares, everyone above an apa 5 has made 5 on the break, its very common, no big deal, trust me. I hit the rack medium speed once playing 14.1 and made 5 by accident, now and then, like the bumper stick say, s*** happens.

6 at 9 ball, becomes very rare, 7 unheard of.

That was interesting. He threw his hands up because he was unhappy about the cue ball getting kicked up table.

A great accustats dvd is DCC 2010 9 ball finals. With Efren on the hill Rodney makes 4 on the break and scratches. Efren comes to the table with that famous toothless grin on his face and everybody in the room knew it was over.

I used to hammer the rack like thunder, but I am a muy malo hombre, big and stinky holmes. I would make 5 on the snap, at 9 ball, 5 times a day, and then the light bulb went on, every time I lost the game, did not have a shot, so what was the purpose of it?

Then I learned is was all about a med soft control break, make the corner, half the time make the one in the side, and if not, it goes up table with the 2 and I usually have a shot.

I got smart. Blasting the rack with all your beef, amigo, is muy mucho dumbo. That is not where it's at.
