If I ever want to get some cash, I will withdraw from 2,500 to 5,000 several times over a spread out period of time, maybe once every three or four days. You actually can't withdraw 10K over a 24 hour period, so taking out 5K twice in two days will trigger an IRS report. In many banks today, if you want over 2,500 or 3,000, you must let them know ahead of time so they can prepare that much cash for you. I now have high limit ATM cards that allow me to withdraw up to 3K from one of the indoor machines. Using all three cards (for separate bank accounts) I could withdraw 9K at one time, although I never have. NEVER EVER use one of those credit card type ATM's you see in casinos. They charge usurious fees like $50 to withdraw $500 on your credit card. It's legal highway robbery! In fact just about any ATM that is not located in a bank will charge high fees to get money. A $5-6 charge is not unusual, even to withdraw less than $100. So let the buyer beware!
I'm like Mitch above in that I KNOW the feds are aware of my money activities (it's all there on my tax returns), so I make no attempt to hide anything. Why should I, it's all for legit business reasons. In that capacity I have made many deposits, withdrawals and money transfers (never in cash) that are well into six figures (all for real estate transactions). And guess what, I'm still small potatoes compared to the big time movers and shakers on Wall St. and elsewhere, and I know it.
