I watch the youtube matches-most recently Welsh and Masters tourneys ...
The tables have NO DIAMONDS or DOTS,
like the pool tables I play on in the US ...
"what is the players' point of reference for all of those AMAZING SHOTS...
I am primarily speaking of Ronnie O Sullivan...
He makes some awesome defensive / snooker shots" ...
moves around the table and rails quite nicely"

The snooker players are doing their well-paid jobs and they put in serious practice. They don't need no steenkin spots.

Well, actually, they do have spots for the baulk colors and I bet they notice which baulk color their line of aim passes near.

Since they haven't mastered mathematics, except for addition, they are unable to use pool table diamonds or dots.

Hah, I knew what video you were talking about without even clicking - result of showing it to too many middle school math classes. None of my students had ever seen billiards before.

Love this video. I was probably 5 or 6 the first time I ever saw it, probably on the Mickey Mouse Club. I especially like the Gallileo quote: " Mathematics is the alphabet with which God has written the universe."
