What's your preference? I play on 7's all the time in league, so I like it when I get a chance to play on a nice 8 or 9 footer.

Well

I play for money or tournaments, and it is an irritation for me most of all.
Most of our tables in the Midwest are oversized 7 footers (Bar tables in Pool rooms).

The other problem is there is not much money action on the 9 footers around here, except a little 1 pocket, for small stakes.

Beginners usually learn after playing an 8 ball game for an hour that they will do much better starting on a bar table.

I haven't played on a full sized table (9 ft.) for years now, but I did grow up on them. And I hate using the crutch so much. I do enjoy a good game of Golf on a snooker table now and then though.

I went 7 because that is all we have to play on in this area. There is a place about 40 minutes from me that's got three 10 foot tables, but the place is always really crowded and full of idiots (it also has go karts, big screens, water park). I just bought my first table, and got a 7 ft because I figured I might as well practice on the size of table I'd be doing 98% of my playing on. I also just bought my first house (bought the table first so that I'd make myself buy a house with room for it :D), and the 7ft table is all I could find room for in houses that I could afford.

i like playing on 9 footers for money because not everyone can play on them. i hate playing on 7 kfooters for money because they're too easy. one good break and half the balls are gone. but that is where where most of the money is these days.

I personally like 9ft tables but if I was going to buy one it would be 8ft just so my gf doesn't have to use the crutch so much. She is a shortie!

I love the 9 footers, it makes you play better position so you DON'T have to use the crutch very often. At least it does for me. There's usually decent action on the 9 ft tables at my local hall too so thats a plus.

My Legion post has a 7 footer though and we do get some good play on that too.

I have a small 6 footer at home, because it was the only size I could fit in the rec room when I bought the house. I am planning to swap the familiy room and the rec room though and put in a 9 ft table.

My fiance likes to shoot on the 9 footers the most too (she's pretty short too, but likes them none the less).

I won't even play if it's a 7. I stay away from 8s nearly as much, too. Strictly 9 feet for me...

7 foot is what I play in league and it is also what I own so it maes sense for me. I have not been playing long but I am improving every day and will hopefully upgrade my house table to a better quality 8 foot in the future.

I play on 7's in league but I hate them. 9 footers are the best especially considering I shoot better on a 7 after practicing on a 9. 7's are too crowded and it's a little easier to lock yourself up. 9 footers have lots of room to play :)

I like all size tables, but feel most at home on a seven footer, as this is what I commonly play on most frequently.

I got started playing pool in league so I learned on 7 ft bar boxes but recently like to play on 9 footers the best. I will be putting an 8 footer in my house because that's all that will fit but it's still better than a 7 footer. I like to practice on 9 footers because then when I play league it's seems much easier.

I despise 7-footers. Give me the 9-footers. ;)

Games of choice... either 9-ball or 10-ball.

IMO and experience, there's a huge skill set to learn when adapting from 8-ball on the 7-footers or 8-footers... to 9-ball on the 9-footers. I love the position play and shot-making challenges of 9-ball on the 9-footers. :) (or 10-ball, which essentially eliminates the sensitivity of the outcome of 9-ball breaks due to the wing balls)

The bigger the better imo. If 10 footers were more available, I would probably prefer those.

There is a place I go to that has 9, 8 and 7 foot tables. If I have my choice, I will go to 9 foot tables, no question about it.

However if all of the 9 foots are taken, I will play on 7 footers. I feel that 8 foot tables are small enough that the shots are all pretty easy, but not large enough to be too congested, which makes them too easy. At least 7 foot tables get very congested which forces me to play pin point position.

I used to play a lpt of Valley bar tables in APA but since I play out of Mr Cues now we play only on 8' and 9' tables! and I love them ! Starting out originally playing straight pool on 9' tables as a youth its like going home again!:)

I prefer to play on the 8' tables mainly because of the congestion problem on 7' and its more of a challenge. There are hardly any 9' tables around here so I end up spending most of my time on bar tables and practicing either on a 7 or 8'. I have also thought that after practicing on an 8', it is difficult to go back to a 7' and shoot. The angles are slightly different and it throws me off a little, usually taking a couple games to get accustomed to the angles, speed, etc. again. My theory is, you should practice on whatever youre going to be playing on in tourneys.

This could not be further from the truth. If you think barboxes are easy, you need to play some more on them. If you want to learn pinpoint accuracy, you play 8-ball or straight pool on a barbox. If you master that, you'll never miss your short shape. I can break and run out 8-ball twice as much on the 9' as I do on the small table. That tells me it's way harder on the 7'.

For gambling bangers, it's basically a shot making contest. So I can see how you would like the 9' over the barbox. But when you learn to shoot straight, you'll figure out soon enough that making balls has nothing to do with the length of the shot.

Most of the casual play Cindy & I do is on bar box...7'. But I voted 9'. Those times when we drive 60 miles round trip to play on 9' Brunswicks are special to me. Whoops, didn't say that right. I don't enjoy the time on I-5. I love every minute on a sweet 9' Brunswick. Lottery fantasy #1...buy a house with a game room large enough for a 9' Gold Crown. I've thought about adding a room to this house, but I hate the hassles of a home remodel. They seem to always cost twice as much and take twice as long as estimated. It would probably be less hassle to move.

I do love the 9ft tables. It's pretty much all we have down here. I've yet to find a 5x10' in Miami, but I'd like to give those a shot too.

I have an 8ft. table at home because that's the biggest I could fit without having to worry about any corners where my cue might bump a wall or table on my backswing, but I avoid them unless I'm at a bar and I find cheap action.

As far and the bridge goes, I never really use it unless I'm playing one pocket or I'm not paying attention to shape playing nine ball.

I've never seen a 7ft table, but I imagine I'd never ever miss a shot that wasn't tied up.
