If you want to improve, 9' or better. :) When you've mastered a 9' or better pool table, and for whatever 10' or larger tables are for snooker/golf, you'll quickly realize that playing on something smaller is much eaiser. If those are worried about ball clogging, then I guess the challenge is what pool is all about. I've learned that the smaller the table you learn more about fine tuning shape, and the larger the table you learn more about aiming and pocketing the balls. So to be diverse is key, as with anything.. Don't put all your eggs in one basket. The next topic would be, which large table game, or small table game would create bad habits for other games? All experienced players would agree out of all the billiard games out there, on any sized table, a huge chain of learning events occur to obtain the next level.

Survey Says!

Interesting how the poll right now says 9 foots as far and away the favorite to play on. Most tables in the USA are 7 footers in bars. I guess AZbilliards doesnt have a whole lot of "bangers" that come here. :) I am gonna have to find that survey where they listed the % of tables. I want to say 60% of all tables in the USA were 7 footers. Not sure...need to look that up again.

I've never seen a 7ft table.

What a beautiful statement. Perhaps this is a contributing factor to the success of the Florida Pro Tour.

The Valley tavern table is the Anti-Christ and ruination of American pool.

I know we only have about ten 9' tables (that I know of) between two bars in town.

9 foot, but I like to practice on a snooker table. 5x10

I have played on 6-10 foot, if you have the money I'll play on anything, but I prefere a 9'

I'd say 9ft tables are my favourites for pool, but I'll play on anything & be happy. Sure, there's more traffic on a smaller table but that just adds to the fun for me, more of a challenge.

I've yet to see a 10ft table, but my brother in law is putting one in his new house. Allegedly a snooker table but to me if it ain't a 12ft x 6ft it ain't a real snooker table! Just not the same.
