Bump A Lump

Bump, Bump. Someone is gonna love this ring. Also, The Schon LTD is sold now.

Thanks,

Josh Hillard

I'll give you $150 for it. You won't get $100 in a pawn shop. Kay's cost on that new, is under $200, so yes this is a serious offer.

Actually Kay's jewlery's website has the set listed at $699

Oh idk, I just know if ya add it to your cart the price is $699.99 after you add to your cart and continue to check out. Not sure where you are seeing it for under $200 on their site unless its a different ring than whats on the link.

If cost is under $200 new for this ring, Why in the world would you offer me $150? Sound funny to anyone else too?

I think he is trying to say that Kay's COST (not retail) is less than 200.00. Why on earth he thinks you should sell for cost is beyond me...unless the cue offered in trade is equally offered at cost. I just do not understand some peoples' thinking.

So, to clarify for Nine Ball....does someone want to trade 700.00 (retail) worth of cue for 700.00 (retail) worth of diamond ring?:)

Hope this helps!!

He wants something for nothing, plain and simple. This has been mentioned in a previous thread, so I'll mention it again...it is poor form to make publicly negative comments about the price posted by a seller in this forum!!! True, this is a trade situation, but the same principles, and common courtesy still apply!!

Bottom line, if you do not like a posted asking price, keep it to yourself publicly, and move on. If you wish to discuss with the seller, take it to the PM's!!! This is getting old.

I like this question about the ring better,

She must of said no!! You should have bought her a bigger ring!!!!!!

That is why I suggested a 'Barter' section or sticky. I got stuff I might offer up for trade as well.

If I could get away with it I would put my fiancee's ring on here for trade..would get me a pretty Gina....but she said no...Why didn't I settle for a decent ring and a nice custom cue to go with it...ugh...lol

I think he is pointing out what economists call the sunk cost principle. To most people, this idea seems completely irrational. However, it is very prevalent in the business community.

Welcome to capitalism....

In case you are not following Shane's explanation, a sunk cost is a past investment of money, effort, or time associated with a current decision. According to traditional economic theory, decisions should be based only on the incremental costs and benefits that are expected to arise from an option because sunk costs cannot be recovered. Considering sunk costs while evaluating current options might cause a person to make an irrational decision; and yet, people often honor sunk costs, perhaps because they do not want to feel that they have wasted the already-spent investment. For example, a person might have pre-purchased a $10 movie ticket and would still attend the movie, even if a better event came up at the same time, like a free concert, that he or she would enjoy so much more than the movie.
