Looking to sell this 70's (sideways "w") Josswest birdseye maple cue to fund another purchase. Specs are:

- Butt - 15.25 oz., 28.5" (to bottom of buttcap, not bumper)
- Original shaft (w/Micarta ferrule) - 3.9 oz., 28.75" (joint to end of tip), 13+mm
- Rat Cues shaft (ivory ferrule) - 4.1 oz., 29.75", a hair under 13mm
- Stainless steel 5/16-14 piloted joint, maple block rings, white with green speck linen, milk-colored delrin buttcap (with JW logo)
- Refinished by Ryan Theewan at Ratcues in early 2008

The original shaft has a wobble; I guesstimate 1/16" or less. The Rat Cues shaft has a very, very slight variation when rolled. I would call it straight, but no surprises. The butt is straight. Mike Webb told me 3 weeks ago that it spun true on the lathe, and rolls perfect on the table.

Overall it is 57-1/4" - 57.75", 19.oz - 19.3 oz., 18.5" balance point with the longer shaft.

Asking $750 shipped to continental U.S. Out of country needs to contact me to discuss issues with shipping the ivory (ferrule). Thank for looking.

More detailed pictures.....

The forearm picture shows 3 shafts, but only 2 come with the cue (2 closest to the butt).

Love the simple classic look of this cue, Scott.

Any chance the joint will fit a Schon shaft??!! :) ;)

Hope all's well with you and yours, sir.

Hi, Mark!

I think the joint will fit, but not sure. The pilot might be an issue. Unfortunately, I don't have a Schon shaft to try out.

Yeah...I kinda figured that if there would be a problem, it would be with the piloted insert.

Best of luck on the sale, sir...but you shouldn't need it. A classic beauty of a cue like that should pretty much sell itself!!

Take care, sir.

I've interchanged shafts between Schon and Joss West before. May not be a perfectly flush fit, but they will work. By the way, these are dynamite cues, some of Billy's best hitters. I should have never sold mine. drool, drool.

Thanks for the info, guys. I thought the Schon shaft pilot would fit, but didn't want to guarantee. Never thought about the outside diameter.

Very nice cue Scott

It is way to nice to let go for $750. Scottsold me a Scruggs a while back. Great guy. Great communication. Cue was better than described!
Nick :)

Mark ,
You can always have the pilot trimmed down on the Schon shaft.
I have a Killer Curly one with Micarta I did it to for a playing shaft.

Heya Tom,

Thought about that...but I don't want to alter the shafts I have. They fit perfect on the older Schon cue I have (of course)...so whatever buttsection I get is going to have to have a joint pilot wide enough to fit it.

I do love Scott's JW...and OUTSIDE diameter is of much less concern than the inner pilot on the stainless joint.

Regardless - Bump to the top for Scott.

I think the pool room I go to sells Schons. I'll take it up there and check tomorrow. Do you know if they have the same size pilot on all their shafts? In other words, do I need to worry about getting the right "vintage" shaft to match yours?

Scott

Go Falcons!!! And take the Braves with you!!! :D
