Hi guys, well my camera arrived and i took it with me today for the 1st time. I was fortunate enough to get a 71 ball run on tape right away. It´s not the prettiest run, made a lot of mistakes. I broke ran like 3, missed a shot and scratched. from there i ran the 71 as you can see. 1 corner pocket is out of the picture, as the run ends i was shooting the 14 down there and it hung in the pocket :( Unfortunately it´s without sound, have to check that and i should have turned the light on in the whole room lol. The camera is not the best also but i did not want to spend a couple 100 $ just to record me playing pool lol. well, it´s the first time i ever used a camera so i hope the next runs will be better quality.

check it out and then criticize me :)

Great

You were shooting too fast, you did not know where your cue ball was going, you played the wrong patterns, you chalked the cue the wrong way, you were smoking between every rack, you wore the wrong color shirt for pool............................. LOL.........LOL

Great to put a face behind the player & writer. Great run 71. You are a player. It was hard to see the lay out of the table from that camera angle. It needs to be higher & viewing right down the table. I was listening to some good music when I watched it. Next time some sound.
There is nothing that I can say that you do not know already on the points of your game that need work on. I enjoyed watching my friend. Keep up the great shooting. Looking forward to more from you.

Too funny.

Sasha,

You play effortless straight pool, its a pleasure watching you run balls. Looking forward to meeting you in Vegas.

nice shooting !

good rhythm, one thing i noticed is that you left some trouble spots a little longer than i would have. i like to take care of the issues early if i can while i still have other balls to work off of while resolving them.

also you let the cue ball get away from you a few times, and you were fortunate to have the shots in the side pockets.

one other note: when shooting break shots, try to figure on how you are gonna get away from the rack rather than sticking to the rack on the break.

other than that like i said, you shoot at a good rhythm and have a great eye.

DAMN!
You make this game look easy....that is the only thing I can think to say about your shooting.

Kudos for having the honesty and integrity and confidence to show that break then 3 balls sunk followed by a miss and a scratch.
Most would have edited that out before posting.....he he....it takes a good man to run 71 after a start like that too! My hat is off to you.

Do some more videos with some sound and I will watch eagerly.

GREAT STUFF!
NEED MORE with better lighting and at least some sound!
Then you can give me and many others on this board some advice on how you do it.
Thanks for sharing.

like i said, i made mistakes here and there. I know how i am getting away from the Rack though.

i didnt mean that in a malicious sort of way, just letting you know what i caught....... not that i am any better !!! LOL

Steve

look forward to watching more

thanks for all the nice comments so far, apreciated....

@ 14-1StraightMan : there is no way i can put the camera higher somewhere. I know where it should be but as it is in my club i can not hang it on the wall....have to figure out a way though...

Hi Sascha,

71 er run is always a good run!
I will not start to search what perhaps could be better :p (grin+crouch ^^)

I bought a stative for my cam- 30 euros. Better to place it this way-

gz again on your first high run on your first vid :p

Nono Sascha :-)

i like your rythem and like you re playin the game- im just every time amazingly surprised how some *hell of a shotmaker* like you are doing their job...with a bit *different* technique :grin-square:
you have really a good rythm in your game very smooth.
And talking about technical fundamentals with such experienced and good shooters like you are can cause more problems than help.
Awesome run, looks very easy when you re at the table.
Gratz Sascha,

talking about my hand huh ? i know it´s way inside when stroking and i don´t like it but thats how it is and it works for me. just look at jeremy jones... same style....and he is world class.

That why i said: Don t want to talk about it :-) you learned it with this technic- and you re doin well. Hell of a shooter, very smooth.
To make such a *reset* would take probably a bit longer time and the absolute willing- the most important thing is, that YOU are feeling COMFORTABLE- nothin else! And we all see that you re feeling comfortable. So gogogo for your high run- i think you have it!

hau rein und take care *Grosser* :)

Ingo

sure do and sure will

i said it earlier maybe in a different thread that i don´t care how somebody stands, holds the cue, strokes or whatever, everthing works for different people and i never wanted to change anything on my game.

like i said, i know what you had to say but nevermind, i want everybody to leave their feedback :)

I personally just have the opinion to think: What would an excellent player like you (even other guys) would do with an excellent technique :p
Just my opinion and like to think sometimes about it- but as long as you feel super with it, i m with you

I will hopefully watch this run today or tomorrow. Great shooting, first try and run a very respectable number. I feel like everytime I try to record I jinks myself and cant put up a descent number.

another example is oliver ortmann, look at his technique, he is world class, too. i know what i am capable of and i know i still get better. there are so many different styles and all can play world class. that´s what counts for me.
