$75 Will get you a shot at this beautiful southwest

Monto,

Just a thought on your pricing structure. I am not going to comment on the value of the cue. However, I would like to comment on your price structure. As a potential raffle slot purchaser, this is my thought process...

1/42 odds for $75... independent of the price, I think the odds are too high.

1/32 odds for $100 - Now as a buyer, my odds just got substantially better for $25. Not a bad deal.

1/21 odds for $150 - Odds even better. Maybe considering this is a rare and high valued cue 21 people will be interested. If so, their odds are much better! In theory these people could just buy two of your $75 slots, but that may be less successful of a sales pitch.

Just throwing it out there. You may have better luck with $100 slots and better odds but I don't want to tell you what to do.

Good luck either way.

Now THAT is some good feedback, as opposed to the "Your price is too high" camp that should keep their opinions to themselves instead of hijacking a thread they claim they have no interest in.

I understand ur point of view.what i have seen in other threads is u get defined set of numbers.but here u can choose 2 numbers of ur choice and have the same probabilty to win.u can even buy 3 or 4 slots.this option is not available in any other raffle.
75 usd is like a dinner or vodka bill as someone suggested.and u r getting a chance to win a sw cue.i think if i am allowed i will myself buy a slot in my raffle:D

Why do we have to keep opinions to ourself? I am interested that's why I looked but I think the price was too high and the odds. With that said I do like James idea and if things get adjusted I am willing to possible take a chance and let the seller make some money. But I'm entitled to give my opinion on something I AM INTERESTED in.

Thanks

You got no shot at getting in on your own raffle..

Can you imagine if you filled up with one slot going to you and you won?

The flame throwers and pitchforks would come out..

Of course you are entitled for opinions and i respect what everyone says.If u go by what james said and u can buy two spots for 150 u will have the 1 in 21 chance to win the cue with numbers of ur choice(subject to availabilty)
Also give a considertaion that this a sw.it is no ordinary cue the winner will get. they are not easy to come by.and all good things have a price attached to them.
and trust me this cue is worth every penny

I didn't realize you were allowing that and it certainly can make a difference and indeed it is a good cue. For those that want to get in more power to them. I didn't mean to sound critical of you it was just my first reaction...maybe I should count to 10 or something before posting.

Good luck

Im excited to see the winner of this raffle...Jun i hope you win this buddy...Southwest cues are awesome. Goodluck! ;)

Because it's tacky and disrespectful to the original poster. It's also a waste of time and space on the thread. That's like saying, "Wow I would love to have an original Balabushka if I could get one for $1,000."

Sound stupid? Sure does to me.

The point is that the price WAS set, as were the odds. If you don't like either then there is no need to knock somebody's auction that you're not going to bid on.

Just because you don't think it's a good deal, doesn't mean others won't, which by the way is obviously the case since he's already got people down for numbers.

Would the spots fill up quicker if they were cheaper? Maybe, but it doesn't matter because they're not.

If you don't want to play... just go away.

1. your example is stupid because no one said to price it unfairly the other way either. If you think I did please show me the post.

2. Is this your raffle?

3.Did you read all my post completely?

Didn't think so and I don't see your name on the raffle list and I don't understand why you're more upset than the guy running the raffle, so follow your own advice will you.

Take care.

1. your example is stupid because no one said to price it unfairly the other way either. If you think I did please show me the post.

Basically it's the same thing as your post. The price on this (Fill in the blank) cue is too high, but if it were lower I would supposedly bid on this cue. Same thing, just semantics on your part.

2. Is this your raffle?

It's not my raffle, and my rant wasn't even about the raffle, if you would read MY post, it's about trolls like you saying the price of a cue is too high in their opinion. Are you an expert on cue pricing now? Nope. Didn't think so. Again the fact that he had people bidding on this shows you how little you actually know about the cue's price in relation to the market, or the simple fact that a cue like that IS worth that kind of money to the right buyer. Is this your raffle? No? Then go away.

3.Did you read all my post completely?

Yes I did, and the only part I pointed out was the part about your "opinion" on the price of this, or any other auction for that matter, being disrespectful and tacky when posting in the same thread. Would you like it if people flamed your sales threads? What makes it OK for you to do it to them, then?

I don't see your name on the raffle list and I don't understand why you're more upset than the guy running the raffle, so follow your own advice will you.

You don't see my name on the raffle list because I'm not in the market for a SW cue. You also don't see me making stupid "This price is too high" posts in the thread, either, do you? The problem I have is with people like you thinking they are the cue price police. Let me let you in on a little secret - You're not. If you don't like the price, don't bid on the cue. It's as simple as that. Just don't tell somebody they are getting screwed by bidding on something they think is worth the price. Do you understand the difference now?

Again, just go away and let this guy run his raffle on a nice cue. If you're not going to bid on it, don't the time of people that ARE in the market for it.

The winner is essentially getting a SW for $75. Thats a hell of a price. The beauty of the raffle is the ugly of it too. You pay the price of a ticket for your cue, however much this rakes in will benefit only Monto.

Of course purchasing multiple spots, etc. changes the numbers but still the essential same thing happens. Your getting the cue for what you pay for. Bargain with the man the same way you guys bargain with a sale price, if you think the ticket price is too high...

Laurie called me two days ago. I had wrote her a few questions about my order and she elected to call me about them.

I placed my order in 06.. As of right now they are working on orders from 1999..

Ordered three in 1998. Should be getting my last one sometime in June.

What does one think is acceptable to ask for (in terms of cash to avoid a 9+ year wait for a brand new SW) I don't really think there is an answer to that. THE CUE IS WORTH WHATEVER SOMEONE IS WILLING TO PAY FOR IT!!! Whether it is $10.00 or $10,000.:)
