I usually Play poker sometimes...i gamble most of my 2 face down cards either 2/3 suited, 9/8, 10/10, J/J , A/K or A/A...and i bet $100 as long i i can feel like winning the 2 face down cards....i guess for $75 raffle...i'll take my chances of winning the cue....so i'm in..ill take the LUCKY 13 as my spot :)

rag-rag in a suit = winning hole cards???????????????????

There simply arent' that many ebony nosed SW's about period. Very pretty cue. On the other hand, finding 43 folks ready to part with $75 for a 1 in 43 chance to own a SW....That might be a tall order. Best of luck with it.

nice cue and gl to everyone in the auction. 3150 isn't to out of line for an ebony nosed franklin, especially with how much the paypal fees will hit him for. nice cue btw...JS

sorry but your looking to get too much for this cue for this raffle to make sense to me.

Franklin-era Southwest pricing...

This is a Franklin era Southwest with an ebony nose in immaculate condition with full shafts. I was told this cue was purchased from a collector that never played with the cue...I think 2500.00 is about the going rate for a non Franklin era ebony nosed Southwest......here are a few for sale threads with Franklin era Southwests that are fairly recent do the comparison.....

http://forums.azbilliards.com/showthread.php?t=96804&highlight=franklin

http://forums.azbilliards.com/showthread.php?t=91647&highlight=franklin

The thing that amazes me is that nobody makes negative comments on the pricing structure on these threads listed above.....hmmmmmmm I don't get it????
The first thread that you quoted is now for sale @ about $2600...In my opinion the Franklin-era SW's don't play any better than the newer ones. It's just a way for some sellers to try and get more $$$ out of the sale. I had a conversation with Laurie Franklin and she told me that Jerry wasn't doing anything but the finishes on the cues for the last couple of years he was alive. They still have the same people making the cues today that were there when Jerry was alive. A SW is a SW is a SW in my opinion...

I hate to say this BUT!!!...i started not to like other people bashing or giving a bad comments about this raffling this cue...I think the person who wants to do the raffle is the person who's giving other people like me that cannot afford to buy a 2k or 3k worth of cues...his giving me a chance to win 1 of 42 chances for just $75 which for me still alot of money. but atleast not a 2k or 3k...I've been wanting to own a SW cues and I think this is my chance to own one if i win the raffle ...and i don't have to spend thousands of dollars to own one....remember Life is a gamble so why not take the chance...I'm sorry to others that get offended on this comment of mine. but this is just my honest .02 cents

Seriousy, people like this need to STFU!

If you don't want to bid on the cue, fine, but don't hijack the thread or make negative comments like this.

Hey i've done the raffle thing already and will do it again. I'm not a tire kicker who is just being negative here. I will buy and I will participate in games of chance IF the deal makes sense. If enough people tell the seller that the deal is not in line, then maybe he will make it inline. The cue is awesome, the deal is not. If he priced the cue accurately he would get his raffle filled.

Im not the only one who thinks this.

If he inline the price of the cue that he might think the price is $2,600 or $2,500...and the same number of raffle which is 42...we are looking about $14 or $15 difference each....is it too much to pay that much from your own pocket? just my .02 cents

Put me down for #9.:D . Let us know what lottery you'll be using and when you want paid.....Thanks, Scott

If things get readjusted, I'll get in myself.

Ok, no more negativity from me here. Its a beautiful cue, I have owned many Southwests in my life and none of them disappointed me on their playability, so I am sure this cue hits jamup as well. I sincerely wish the seller best of fortune in his raffle.

I didn't say that if play poker i intend to lose my money..of course not..everytime i bet something I put my self on a win-win situation...i just don't bet because i want to give my money to my opponent...hell no...
