Solids or stripes and why? It was a solid break, except no ball dropped :(

Stripes all the way on this one because 3 stripes are hangers and the 6ball is only bankable to make.
 
The 10 ball is the only one that needs some precise shape. Clear the 12 first.
 
Thin cut the 12 in the side come off the rail and slightly bump the 10 out. Guaranteed position on the hanger in the corner.

Game over...next fish.
 
Anyone in the world is taking stripes. Jason said it best. Sink the 12 and nudge the 1-10 The only way to screw up is to send the 10 into a cluster. Hit it soft and the run is almost dog-proof.

I hope we can look forward to more of these layouts, these are my favorite type of post on the forums. We need more like your 2nd rack.

Just don't blow your load all in one day and get tired of posting 'em by next week lol.
 
I'd start by playing 12 ball with top and coming off the rail between the 1 and 10 softly to separate them. Then run out from there as you bound to be on 1 of 3 balls from that opening move.
 
Stripes. 11, 14, 9, 10, 12, 13, 15, 8. Rack um! I wouldn't take the chance of breaking out the 1-10. Position is natural in the side off of the 9. You have the 15 to bail you out if you get weird position after you make the 10. Having said that, shot making is my strongest suit. The 10 in the side is a hanger. You have to play to your strengths though. If you think you can't make it, break it out on the first shot. EZPZ.

Sorta like yours but cleaning up top part of table first. I would like to do 12 (don't bother moving any balls on this shot since 10 goes in side easily), 9, 10, 15, 13, 11, 14 then 8 in lower left corner.

put your superman cape on..solids are a shoe in..z bank the one, z bank the 6..in the side both the 1/6..bank the three in the corner,upper right.play the 7 threw the 11 while slide the cue ball down an cross table for the four in the side off that stripe..
play the two in the upper right hand corner..pot the five in the lower left corner..draw back an fire the eight in the upper right..no problem..
some one did say they wanted to hear a solid run..
more yukon needed..lol

Actually, a better play would be to pocket the 12 and follow into the rail and nudge the 10 out. Since everything is so close, it's pretty easy to hit it exactly right. You should be able to nudge it out a couple inches which will make it a perfect keyball for the 8.
 
My first question to posters is.......Why do you want to nudge the 1-10 cluster?

The ten goes in the side quite easily. ( From thd TV angle, looks like it will go even with the 12 there :grin:)

Nudging balls that are not needed to be nudged, only leads to possible problems in the game.

Yep..I set this up as picured..played the 12,9,the ball on the long rail then the 10,then the side..then the right corner..then the left corner.went through an across table for the eight in the upper right..the only ball I moved a little was the six on the long rail..just bumped it..
