8 Ball at the elite level

Preference while paying to watch elite level 8 Ball

I'm not even sure what the second option means. However I Break N Run as often as possible. That being said, I also play a very defensive game when a Run Out is not an option, because the biggest reason anyone looses is because of the failed Run Out.

And, for the record I didn't vote because there aren't enough options.

I think a better statistic would be how many times the breaker broke and ran after a successful break. Nobody wanted action in other thread at 50% mainly because nobody knows how the table will be breaking in 8 ball. Change the action to whoever has the first shot at the table after the break running out 50% of the time and you may get some action on that.
 
elite players will make use of both options....they evaluate their chances and opponents and decide wheather to duck or shoot the tough shot.
 
I also have no idea what the second option means, but the discussion seems to be about whether the table should be open after the break or not. I vote for open after the break. You could make a terrific break, which is, after all, a shot, and the most important one, and sink four solids, and get hooked behind a stripe. Why should you be punished for this?

In APA, you'd have to kick and pray. In BCA you'd have other options.
 
I must be missing something; the poll makes absolutely no sense to me whatsoever. Do I like to see safety battles? Yes. Do I like to watch them B & R? Yes. Do I like to see “great shots?” sure and not just by great players, I like to see anyone do those. Do I like to see the “offensive” play the “defensive” minded player? Well sure. Do I think the rules of 8ball should be changed to if you make a suit you should be it? I wouldn’t care what they changed the rules to because they are “harder” or “easier” for both players. I simply do not understand what “grind it out” is referring to. How some of you seen to be able to answer this question leads be to believe that there must be something that I do not understand.
