8-ball, Do I rake the balls after the break if he has an open table?

Hate to dispute you, Sean, but I've played in the biggest (and supposedly worst) of the national leagues for 3 years now, and have never seen anyone pull a dick move like any of the ones PocketBanks has mentioned, in any of his threads or posts.

He never gives his opinion, merely stirs the $hit.

Write us another Manifesto, PP.

Sorry about that, Bruce. I have friends that play in that same league, too, and I merely base my statement on some of their "gratuitous complaining" about some of the tactics used in that league. These friends play in the same in-house league on the same night I play in it (Thurs nights), and they'll "gratuitously complain" about their experiences on the prior (Wednesday) night, when they play in that biggest league system.

However, you're right -- I don't think I've ever heard of someone raking the balls in any other way than frustration.

If there was a person laying on the ground and I walked up to him and shot him but didn't know he was already dead, could I be charged with murder.

Or should I just grab my balls like Michael Jackson and not call a foul.

How can you rob a bank and you don't get any money. You should have said, "if I attempted to rob a bank, but didn't get any money."

Could I go to jail or would the bank teller just get a ball in hand?

Most people here find my posts very informative, and many have actually been learning the game by reading my threads! Could I have provided anything more to the forum than that?

Pretty much 100% to a Tee a statement that PP made one day before he got the Ban Hammer.

This is classic Pocket Point.

Yup, I agree. This self-aggrandizing about posting content "worth" is definitely a PocketPoint "tell." I'm particularly enamored with the "most people here find my posts very informative" part. Like he was collecting demographic statistics all along, and has spreadsheets that show a landslide "pro" for his posts, when the obvious determination that anyone who reads the forum can plainly arrive to by the sheer number of "con" replies, is the reverse.

But didn't the Pocket Point guy seem generally more ignorant of the game? I seem to remember he had his own made up bs terminology and advising people to scoop to jump. Maybe I'm getting multiple people mixed up.

Yeah, the more I think about it, he's less PocketPoint and more Poolkiller.

Probly neither, or maybe their love child.

I think you guys are right. With the multiple incarnations of these two, I think I might've gotten them both mixed-up as well.

This is more than likely a Poolkiller reincarnation.

I will say this......... what I have found informative about the Chris Banks threads....... I have learned a whole bunch of things NOT to do.......

I think you guys are being too harsh on the OP. Me? All the incredibly informative, educational, inspiring posts of his that I have read over his short tenure here has improved my game by 2 balls. Well, up until I had my thumbs broken following his sage, classy, strategic advice.

They do not play 8 ball at the derby but if you concede a game you lose that game and an additional game. The giving of an open table is defintiely a sharking move. If you wish to emulate Earl do it with your ball pocketing not his sharking moves and constant *****ing which is definitely another sharking move. He is no ambassador of the game.

I played a top barbox player some ahead sets of 9 ball getting weight, he would never let me shoot . If he missed a ball and left me a shot he just raked them, if i made a ball on the break and had a good shot he raked them. He did this for the first 5 hours and then stopped, and I can tell you it is a move to shark and keep you from getting in stroke. It sure worked on me!

I would say that the 'strategic' nature of your threads is unacceptable behavior to 'most' that take the game serious & have a respect for the game, good sportsmanship, & their own 'playing' ability.

I would say you are what 'most' would consider to be a banger.

Instead of trying to 'teach' what most serious players would consider to be inappropriate, perhaps you should be trying to learn from the vast experience of those available to you here on AZB.

You have never answered the question as to how old are you. If you are very young, then perhaps you could be excused a bit, but if not then I would say you are a part of what gives this game a bad reputation in the eyes of the general public.

I would say that that would mean that 'most' that love this game would not want you & your tactics associated with the game. I dare say 'most' would rather you quit trying to play pool & go play something else, maybe poker, darts or horse shoes.

I do not mean to be offensive. I am merely trying to point out to you that you are the cause of your problems by trying to buck a society where 'most' do not appreciate you telling them that your different way is more correct than the more commonly accepted way of that said society.

Sincerely & with Best Wishes,

I vote for Russian Roulette

Chris
