8-Ball Junkie - IPT at the Grand Sierra Resort, Reno Funniest Blog I Have EVER Read!!

It's an art to be able to write searingly blunt observations that you could never say to someones face, yet bring it across in a humorous, self effacing way. Well done!:D.....I have to go change now, I think I peed:o

Well ...

Poolplayers in general have never been known for the style of dress, other than the fact that many Road Players might disquise themselves by their choice of clothing. Most, from what I have seen, would be better off if their Mothers dressed them in the morning, and taught them the basics about showers, deoderant, color combinations, shades, hues, and not to wear white socks with black shoes.

And who started this thing with the ballcaps? I can't see my shot with a ballcap on, it's bothersome, and it gives me a headache after awhile. I understand it makes you look like a 'good ole local boy' just out to knock a few balls around.

I have found out who wrote this blog and she is a poster here. It's not a regular poster! I hope she sees this and sees how much she is loved and needed here as a regular poster!

bravo

This gal's got talent, with her scathing reviews on pool players' unfashionable dress.....It's kind of a cheap shot because we all know pool players are (as a whole) not into fashion.....However, I really enjoyed reading it as humor, as she appears to be an Asian Joan Rivers type of critic, with "Queer Eye for the Straight Guy" mixed in there....(I'm also reminded of that old comedian Don Rickles and the "insulting" type of humor he used.......here's hoping she continues to write such funny pieces....our world needs more humor... as long as her subjects don't take it to heart and with a grain of salt....

I am suprised to read that most people think pool players are not into fashion. There is no conflict between being stylish and loving pool, is there?

A lot of players I met on the IPt were quite well dressed, such as Bob Hunter, Nick Van den Berg, Ralf Souquet...

By the way, Thorsten is, in my opinion, the most fashionable pool player on the IPT. What do you all think?

thats funny...shes got balls & reminds me of myself....is that all it takes to get a job offering? I could bash people all day, I usually do it in my head when i'm at events...although most of the people i'd be bashing are my friends, so they'd either hate me, or make a change of appearance...

I think if she is 'outed', it will cramp her style and she may never do it again. I think anyone who has posted something should edit it and not mention it again.

I was thinking it was you Earl Grey...lol

I recall you are a lit major or something like that from a post a while back.

Anyway, I figure the writer is a slim asian girl who attended both events and plays pretty good pool. There is a girl fitting this description who was at both events. I borrowed her practice table to try out my new sniper tip.

Age:25 ish I guess. Slim. 158cm, 95lbs. Narrow eyes...(perhaps Korean or Japanese heritage). Often smiling. Not too hard on the eye. A hint of smartassiness:p

But her name I can't recall if I ever heard it.

Mystery girl...reveal yourself. Friends of Bernie seek retribution:eek:

If only I were that lucky. I am your standard lit major, thinning hair with glasses and more like 195lbs than 95. Will you take me out on a date nevertheless? :D

Well you'll have to settle for a beer, a handshake and a heated discussion on post-modernism:( ...:D

Colin,

I believe the girl you are thinking of is Melinda Huang. I was there when you borrorwed her table. She plays a lot at Hard Times in Bellflower. I don't think she is the one that wrote the article.
