8 ball secrets

You have it right, wouldnt recommend this to anyone wanting to learn more about 8 ball. The 8 ball Players Handbook by Schwartz is a better buy for the buck, imho. Have read it twice since i purchased it 2 yrears ago, still is same ol same ol, dont waste your money.
 
I'm patiently awaiting the Ralph Souquet 8-Ball DVD to be translated. That monster ran 28 racks or so of 8-Ball and I'm sure along the way he ran into some clusters and situations. Obviously he thinks the game just as well as he can execute, so this DVD is probably worth the buy.

there are some good books about 8-ball and *understanding* 8-ball. I still love 8-ball and imo most underrated discipline in pool- no other game can let you for so long time at the table (except schmidty on 14-1, rofl) -and further you can have real safety battles on 8-ball.

The 8ball bible is a nice book for sure- also the books from Capelle and Fels are worth to buy em.

At least- it s also worth to play 8-ball against very experienced players. 8-ball is much about expirience. Search for a really good 8-ball player and challenge him. Will bring you for sure to a higher lvl. Understanding 8-ball and escpecially reading the table after your break is much more important than many guys are thinking.

And: Imo the DVD from Ralf Souquet is also worth in german. Imo you ll understand most from watching. further it forces you to 'think* about it :)

I've always heard nothing but good things about 8 ball bible, i have 8&9 books from capelle an thought they were excellent.

At the risk of becoming the unpopular kid on the block i was let down by the 8 ball bible, i felt some of his shots were not practical, one particular carom shot they advertise on the site just struck me as more of a trick shot but was hailed as a high percentage option.

Perhaps im just not a fan of the writing style or presentation, it just didn't stick with me?

Any idea when the English version of the Souquet dvd will be released?

Perhaps, you did not notice that this was a pocket billiard forum. There are some rules that you must follow and are listed in the 'Sticky Note" section of the Main Forum.

You should read those and consider removing your non-billiard advertisement.
 
8 ball secrets?

There is nothing that isn't covered by Phil Cappelle play your best 8 ball, I reccomend that book strongly. I still reread parts of it before 8 ball events, lots of winning moves there.
