So what was the shot you missed to run out just previous to this ? Good shot though! These 3 rail kick shots do seem to channel toward an open pocket; thanks Frank for this thread as this is the kind of thinking I like to get into.

Thanks for asking Chris. I'm surprised I wasn't asked how I got into this situation before now. Actually it was the shot prior to this that I missed but did get position on the eight. He elected to play one safe while opening up a couple of his balls and left me in this situation. IMO I believe he did the correct thing before starting his run because his starting shot would have been a bit risky.

And I would probably fail miserably try to execute it, but I'd try it anyway.

I had a similar idea, but without the tickee (sp??) -- coming off the front side of the 1 and going up table. Upon reflection, I like this one better.
