80's Joss.. need cue value help. (and FS)

A buddy of mine at my local room wants to sell his cue. Except neither of us know what it's worth.

It's an 80's gold letter Joss cue. Nick Varner line. 4 point/4 CNC veneers with 4 spears between those. Original Irish linen wrap and MOP inlays in the butt. The dark wood appears to be rosewood, forearm is a nice birdseye maple. 1 shaft.

Condition: The overall condition is pretty decent. It's got some nicks and pings from over the years. The butt has a very slight wobble to it. The joint lifts up maybe 1/32". The shaft has a taper wobble to it. The tip and joint stay on the table but you can see a little roll in the middle of the shaft when rolled. The buttcap has 2 hairline cracks but is very stable. Nothing rattles or is loose.

Spec: Length: 58" overall
Butt weight: 15.7oz
Shaft weight: 3.9oz
Tip diameter: 13.16
Joint: piloted SS 5/16x14

Any info or pricing help would be greatly appreciated. He will consider offers or if a value can be established he will go by that. Thank you!!

I would estimate in the 350-450 range depending on the condition of the shaft, if it has another shaft add a 100 each side I had an old Joss similar that I sold for 450 and a trade. but that was before the economy took a nose dive.. just my .02
 
If you got $450 plus another cue I would venture to say, that is an absolute home run!
Used CNC production cues similar to this one won't bring $250 cash around here.

I sold a similar cue in excellent condition not too long ago for around $400. The roll of the butt and shaft as well as the cracks in the butt cap are going to have a negative impact on this one's value, IMO.

Thanks guys for the info. I absolutely agree Joe about the rolls & cracks. I was thinking $300 if someone really wanted it. But realistically, maybe $250 or so would be closer. I think he wants a Viking cue so maybe he would be better off doing a straight trade. Might get more bang for his buck so to speak.

If anyone is interested.. my friend is looking for a straight across trade. He is looking for a Viking cue (G-50) or something similar in looks. But he wants a phenolic joint not a steel jointed cue. Thank you.

OK, open to trade ideas including steel jointed cues. It's a nice cue.. would be a nice collector's piece.
