Travis, I don't get it. First of all, who counts? Second of all, is this a video or computer game? It's the only way I can figure you could keep track of your wins.

Make sure you tell me next weekend. ;)

Dear Mr. Trotter,

I am writing to humbly request that you grace the island of St. Thomas with your presence, and that you teach me to play pool properly so that I too may run 300 balls and win 840 games of pool.

I propose to pay you tuition of $200 for each game that you win, provided that you in turn agree to pay tuition refunds in the amount of $200 for each game that I win. If I accumulate "refunds" in excess of $5,000 and if your funds become depleted, I will gladly pay for a return trip to your place of origin.

Thank you for your expeditious attention to this request, and I EAGERLY anticipate seeing you in St. Thomas soon!

Sincerely,

VIProfessor

VIProfessor, may I say that's a wonderful offer. Surely a player of that standard couldn't pass that up! Hell, I'd take you up on it myself, minus the tuition fee part of course! I could use a vacation.

Travis, will you let us know how you get on in the next big event you play in? I look forward to seeing you on TV!

Dear Mr. Cuejoey,

Since receipt of your wise and well-considered message, I've been in contact with various financial interests on the island of St. Thomas who have an interest in pool. After lengthy consideration, they have decided that in the interest of advancing pool knowledge in the territory, they are willing to increase the previous offer twenty-five fold. It is clear to us now that a player of Mr. Travis Trotter's caliber cannot be expected to travel such distances without tuition payments (and refunds!) of at least $5,000 per game.

By copy of this correspondence to Mr. Trotter, we humbly resubmit our request in hope of arousing his interest and participation. If Mr. Trotter requires higher fees than this, I have been assured that funds will be made available to meet his specifications. Again, we appreciate Mr. Trotter's attention to this matter, and we EAGERLY (Oh, so eagerly!) anticipate Mr. Trotter's presence on St. Thomas.

Yours truly,

VIProfessor
