A better weekend?

You couldn't have picked a different weekend?

Same as the Southwest Tournament in Harker Heights

I'm looking at a solution guys trying to find the best time....I do apologize

It's just hard

1st week - Waco - Don't want to mess with Ray's
2nd week - Hawleys or Fast Eddies - I can't be in two places at once
3rd week - Flying Pig Roadhouse:D :D :D
4th - Clicks on Marsh (Big Doc) - Everyone likes Doc

I sure hope not - it's not like SWAT hasn't advertised these same dates for over a month in this section.

Let's make it happen this month guys...keep in mind that with a full field this place has the potential to had $12,000 a year to the DFW pool scene..

Are the dates are solid then Zach?

I will try to come out then to support pool, the bar and you since I won't make SWAT.

Okay guys the dates are set in stone....Sorry I jumped the gun a little on the new dates but we're good to go!!! October 18th and 19th(with 40 or more around there)

I have only been involved in a few bar box tournaments ie: state and nationals, but it seems that the bar is not adding any money to the player payout.
32 players x 25 per entry = 800.00 correct
races to nine and seven
so for an average lets say the sets going to 9 all end as 9-1 and
the sets going to 7 end as 7-3 for
an average of 10.00 per set correct
A full 32 man bracket has 62 matches or sets
so 62 x 10.00 = 620.00 that the players have paid in addition to their 25.00 entry fee for a total of 800.00 + 620.00 = 1420.00
Your stated four spot pay out totals 1300.00
that is a difference of 120.00 goes back to the bar so where is the added 500.00
Seems to me that the 32 players are footing the entire payout
minus a 120.00 table or tournament fee
Also if a player were to go 9-1 through out the 32 man bracket the additional cost would be 30.00 (55.00)to said player while a player who lost their first match would pay an addtional 45.00 (70.00) if the matches were to be won at 7-3
So why not move up the entry to 40.00 have the tables open with the bar adding 200.00 with 32 giving a payout of 40.00 x 32 =1280.00 +200.00 for a grand total of 1480.00 you could toss the extra 180.00 to 5/6 (90.00)
That seems to keep the players from footing the entire cost of the tournament:thumbup:
Just as thought
Oh yeah great idea getting a tourny on Monday:D
at the reopened pool hall
Later Kennan

It's true on the payout breakdown. The bar does not own the tables. They are owned by progressive enterntainment. Progressive will not allow us to open the tables. But they did agree to throw back in the money as a gesture to the tournament. Generally players do put in the added money in a bar box tournament. Unless it's a big bar with a lot of extra cash to throw around.

The Fast Eddies Tour adds $1750 to each tournament, but they can afford it due to the size of the tournament and the bar. The rest of the business that they can do on the side more than pays for it. Then again they also have great sponsors that contribute as well...

I haven't been to a lot of bar boxes around here, but I know up in Missouri when I played it was based similar to the way I'm doing it, And even if a player does spend $30 to $40 in quarters(equals the same as a $50-$70 entry) there playing for the rest of the money everyone else is putting in the tables minus a few bucks. It's like were renting 4 bar boxes for $120 for 2 days. Seems like a good deal to me.

It's split quarters now that way if you lose to say Chen 9-0 and then TJ 7-0 and go two and out you have only spent a total of $33 including the $25 entry. The further you make it in the tournament the more you will have to spend, but that's why I'm making the payout the way I am.

I know personally I don't like green fees, and everyone please keep in mind that this is a nice little bar with pool tables in it. It's not actually a pool hall. Bill the owner is a great guy and I'm sure once he starts having a good turnout he may even be willing to bump the money added. I hope to see everyone there!!!

Thanks,

Rack'em
