Is this 7 iun a row making a ball on the break each time?

I've ran 4 quite a few times after making a ball on the break and ran 5 twice after making a ball on the break, but it seems after these, i would always fail to make a ball on the break or i would break and leave myself stitched and that would end my 'run of runs'.

Plenty of pros have never run seven racks of 9-ball. Did you say your name was Morales?

well of course you have to be making ball on break and playing good! I seen a guy 8 pack another guy for the cash!!! score 1/1 guy missed and other guy went 8 and out on him!

Not only do you need to make a ball on the break, you need to have a shot at the next ball after the break.

To do that 7 or more times in a row, you need to have some (alot) of luck.

Im not calling you a liar or anything, just saying that something like that doesnt happen all that often.

And, sinking the 9 on the break doesnt count as a run out. Neither does making the 1 then the 2-9.

no need to lie..... just curious what other people have been fortunate enough to string together!... anyone else....

ive done 5 in a row 8 ball but who cares about that game :D

10 racks in a row for $50 a rack in 1983. Since then I believe 7 is my high though I've run 5 racks on multiple occasions.

5 in a row. Break and run. No combos or breaking the 9 in.
As another poster said this does require some luck. You have to break a ball in and most importantly have a shot at the 1.
Danny Medina once ran 11 in a tournament and I think this was the reason they started doing alternate breaks.
Am I correct on this?

Measureman,

I know that accu-stats has a video of Danny running 8 (against Bill Incardona) in a race to 13. IIRC, it was to close out the last 9 games in a row at the '91 Sands (SRO).
He may have also ran out a tournament set to 9 from his first shot around that same time (late 80's early 90's).

I don't know if either of these events lead to an alternate break format for the PBT back then, but Danny was really incredible at points back then as his break-stroke and accuracy were unparalleled.

My best this year so far has been a 4 pack. My best ever for running out in a row including not making a ball on the break is 10, but that was years ago.

3 but still working on that, the most i have ever seen was stoney stone running 11 against the ghost.

you get ball in hand when you play the ghost, and you dont need to make a ball on the break, so his 11 racks doesnt compare to what others are talking about in this thread

and yes when talking about running a package, 9's on the break count and combos etc, its games won without taking a seat

most I've ever done is 4 in a row, straight break and runs, no combos or broken 9 balls. I've done 3 in a row a couple times also.
