I have a snooker cue - 9 mm - for snooker
And a proper pool cue - 10 mm - for pool
from the same maker. The only differences are the size of the joint, the diameter of the shaft, and the ferrule. The hits feels the same.
I have other pool cues with thicker shafts, but they feel like clubs by comparison.
