What colors of wood do you like? Diamond can make a table in any wood you choose (within reason). They can also stain or put a color coat on any of the woods.

Brunswick GC5 I believe only comes in mahogany finish.

Oh, just incase you've never seen one, google Diamond Paragon. There is a thread on here that has one of the mechanics installing it, and showing lots of pictures of it. Its a jam up looking table, imo.

Also, both of the Diamond tables can be bought new with either 3 or 1 piece slate. They are not limited to either or of the Professional and Pro/Am model.

And regarding the Diamond logo routed into the skirts, you can omit that option from the factory. (I think it looks gaudy..). Basically you can customize it a lot, to match your tastes.

FWIW, I believe that all tournament used Pro Ams are one-piece slates... for a fast set up and take down... if you go that route.

And a 3-piece Pro Am is a special order item, or it used to be that way.

Yes. But if ordering new from the factory, you can get them any way you choose. The tournament used price (from Diamond) is only about 500 less than new. I'd personally get new, because you can customize it, vs tournament used, for only a 500 premium.

GC on the other hand, I'd only buy used. They all look nearly identical in the decades they've been in production. You can buy them used all day for 2K, and 1K if you get lucky. They don't seem to be worth the premium of a new price to me.

I ended up going with a never commercially owned GC4 in near new condition. I wanted the Diamond, but due to my living arrangement (apartment), could not justify spending 6 to 7k installed for a new diamond (the way I wanted it), vs 3k for a used GC4 installed in excellent condition with all the accessories.
