Got this last week. It looks great and of course it plays great. Hope y'all enjoy the pics and thanks for checkin' it out.

Jerry Franklin

Sweet Jerry Franklin Sir! Once you play with one, you never go back.

Greg, I can't even put it into words how good it plays. Weighs a little over 19 and a half and has super balance and of course it's got that hit that make these cues so desirable. This one is a keeper buddy.

Hope all is well up north sir, Jerry

a very nice JF SW you have there!! i'm sure it plays well! Thanks for sharing!! :)

Brice

Thank you Brice and I do love the way it plays. Jerry's cues are special to me. I love all South West cues, but the South Wests made by Jerry are my favorites.

With a better tip, I'm sure it will play even better. Nice Franklin!!!

Duc, I usually play with the Moori or Kamui mediums. I have a few Ultra Skins, too. I'm giving these Triangles a little time, because the Triangle on my Lambros really does perform well. I'm going to reduce the size of the Triangle tip for a more solid hit before I decide if I want to put a layered medium tip on it.

Thanks for the compliment, Jerry

This cue deserves more love

Bumping this 94 JF SW, due to it not getting enough love the first time around. This is the best playing South West that I've ever hit with and the wood/veneer combos that Mr. Jerry Franklin chose for this cue is beautiful. Hope y'all enjoy it the second time around.

Thanks for lookin' again, Jerry

Thanks Doug, I'm playing solely with this cue at the moment and all my others are staying in there cases. I love cues and get in a (bad) habit of playing with too many of them from one session to the next. Gotta make sure this continues to be my main(only) player for a good while and keep building on the consistency that this cue has given my game over the last couple of weeks.

Thanks again for the nice comments Sir, Jerry

I owned a SW for 20 years. When they changed to Triangle, I changed, too. I had new tips installed by SW annually which was the time it took to wear them down. I was always happy with them. I have no argument with the other choices you mentioned. I am just providing support for Triangle tips that were installed by SW.

Congratulations. Beautiful cue!

That's a nice one, Jerry.....love the figured nose and veneer colors. Has a nice subtle pop !!!!

It's got to be tough refraining from playing with the other cues in your collection. Maybe you can build consistency with all of them? Have a cue for each day of the week, whole week, month, etc..

I have to laugh because I am like most on this thread.

I play with Moori or Kamui softs and find other tips I struggle with. So I would change too, but that's why there are so many different tips.

Secondly, maybe you posted it and I missed it but what are the woods in this cue? It looks a little different than any of the other ones I have seen.

Best of rolls,

Ken

Triangles play great. They hold chalk and have a solid and consistent hit. The only downers are a little mushrooming and not burnishing too good, but I can get past that because of the way they play. You can't go wrong if Triangle is your choice of tip IMO.

Thank you Sir for the comment and compliment, Jerry

Yeah Sean it's a beauty. There are 2 nice eyes in the Pau Ferro that 2 of the long points go thru which makes it a little unique and I also love the veneer and ring colors.

Thanks Sean and I hope to make it to Windy City(fingers crossed), Jerry

Lol, it's a good problem to have for sure. The only down side is not staying with one cue for months at a time so everything feels exact and familiar each time you play. At times when I'm off I'll switch cues, but I know it's me and not the cue. I'm going to make it a point not to do that at least thru the rest of this year(if I can...lol)

I'm usually a Kamui or Moori medium guy myself, but I'm really digging this Triangle. The cue ball is reacting close to perfect each and every shot for the most part(outside of misses and bad strokes of course).

The woods are pau ferro and ebony with orange, blue, and maple veneers and rings.

Best of rolls to you too Ken, Jerry
