Ouch!! You sure Pink Floyd hasn't done you in right there? That ball might have been baked. :p

Mike is so modest!
Talked to Mike at 4pm today he never mentioned the 99. I would have
been bragging about it!
Good for you buddy,I will watch later in the week.

"99 bottles of beer on the wall"..........LOL I mean 99 ball run.

Mike:

What a great run! It's too bad that you didn't get a good dispersion on that last rack's break shot. When you were racking, did you notice the balls having a tendency to "creep" or drift away from their spots or anything? It kinda looked like that last rack was loose.

Too bad about the selection of the 100th ball -- either a "what looked like a low percentage" 4-ball combo to pocket the 12-ball in the corner (which, as you found out later, was actually wired to the pocket), or a high-likelihood skid shot on that 1-ball (which, as you found out immediately, was definitely on an angle to induce skid).

Anyway, this looked like a nice, comfortable run for you. And it was comfortable for us to watch -- a real pleasure!

Mike: What a pleasure watching your nice patterns after having watched my own patterns where the cue ball is running around and knocking into things.

You make it look so simple. You go to the problems immediately, bump break balls when you have to, and clear out rails and pockets quickly.

Sorry about the skid. You could hear the dull thud on video. Did you use any helping English?

I am going to send the link around to our leagues so they will know how it should be done.

Thanks

Sean; it is always a pleasure to read your comments. As for racking. I have notice that the balls do not even roll (turn) as I am pushing the rack into place. Don't know if it could be static but if I shake the rack a few times & rattle the balls, it goes away and racks properly. I was doing that all through out the run until that last rack. I did not take the time to shake the rake the way I had been doing it and the break shot showed just what happens. My fault.
I hit that one ball right on and it did not roll at all at the time of contact, skidding to the left before it started rolling.

Dennis: the skidding factor was not in my mind at all before I took that shot. It was a hard shot b/c of the location of the cue ball. I was just totally concentrating on making the shot. Just wanted to make the one ball and come out to the center of the table for the cut shot on the 12 ball in the corner setting up for a break shot from behind the rack coming off that bottom rail or that crazy combo shot into the 12 shooting it from the center of the table instead of by the side pocket. Missing on a skid does not upset me, it happens. I ratter miss that way, then miss a shot b/c I was aiming wrong or scratching.
Thank you too for the great comment. I hope that your friends in the league enjoy the video. All these wonderful comments are what keeps me wanting to do better & better.

Mikey,

I finally got a chance to sit down at my PC and watch the whole thing.....Well Done Sir !

i haven't picked up my cue in 3 weeks, but that run just put me back in the zone....That run was damn near perfect !!!!

there was only a couple of things i would have done differently, i will take some screenshots of what i am referring to later in the week when i have some time.

I am real proud to see you hit such a smooth run, and i know there is more to come !

1/2 of the work is done :p

Hi Mikey,

finally watched your great 99 run this night. Like always i enjoyed watching your gameplay- and the last 2-3 minutes i was so amused.....when at least the combo worked :p
Think everybody would have been pissed^^

Again- now you did 1/2 of your order-- 101 balls left my friend to make the 200 ( lol )

hats off "young gun"

Very nice run, Mike. I've watched several of your 14.1 videos and I am always impressed by how well you simplify straight pool. You don't run into balls unnecessarily, you control the cueball, address the problems early and effectively, smart secondary breaks, always with a safety ball (or two), and clean and simple patterns to the breakball.

I love straight pool when it is beautifully played. And you do play beautifully. Well done!

New Video Coming

Stevie: we were chatting on FB last night and I told you that I would video tape a practice session. Well, I had a nice 50 ball run with a unbelievable"luck" shot with the 46th ball. I put up the cue after 50, so there is no ending of the run involved. It's a pretty interesting run. I also made a great carom shot during the run. Both the lucky shot & carom shot were from the rack not opening up properly (table playing very slow) and the cue ball was struck each time.
If I remember correctly. There is a really nice "triangle end pattern" in one or two of the racks. (someone just posted a question about that subject) that you had answered for them.
I will try to get it down loaded as soon as I can.
