99 dollars for custom cue? gotta be worth trying

I have not heard anything since my phone conversation. Just follow the link to the craigslist add send him and email and ask for his phone number. Thats what I did

Be very carefull here fellas, I couldn't even retail the materials uncut for $99 and justify my time in doing it, much less spending 15 plus hours in labor to build a good cue.

Something ain't right with this guy.

Cool Cues

I just got off the phone with the cuemaker. His name is Dave. I am on my way to Oregon and might possibly make it happen to meet with him. Will give you update on Dave's Custom Cues he made.

Cheers,
Louie

They look like they have an oil finish, which would cut down on his costs of a spray booth setup. The cues don't look consistent at all either. Ringwork is all over the place. However, it's 99 bucks, so the standards are pretty low. As long as it's straight and doesn't rattle, i'm sure the buyers will be happy. Does he get his woods for free or something?

I ordered a cue 2 months ago. I keep emailing and getting replies like "it will be ready next week". Latest email has something to do with he needs to buy another lathe. I am out no cash, so I will just wait and see.

That 99 bucks would probably better spent on a solid production cue. Or two pieces of overpriced chalk...

I orderd a cue from the guy when this thread first came out. Now after 3 months waiting I have given up on getting a cue from this flake. 1st is was 2 weeks, then another 2 weeks. Then he need to buy another lathe. Now he does not even answer emails. Was no money up front so I didnt get hurt.

NO, he said on the only phone conversation I had with him is no money up front. So I was not out anything either.

I still got his number. Ill text him and ask WTF happened. lol.. I think people who don't do what they say should catch Sh#t. Just say you cant do it, If you cant do it!

I would give the guy a little slack. It is all exciting as heck when you first try making cues, then people order something and instead of doing it for fun you have to answer to people and things can fall apart pretty quickly.

He didn't take any money up front, so he wasn't trying to screw anybody. He probably overestimated his ability to fulfill orders.

He messaged me back!

He said he has been trying to Perfect his product and would still honor the original $99 deal. Hell it might be worth waiting for. We would wait 10 years for a South West! What is a few months.
He said he will have another batch ready in a few weeks.
