Robin Hamlet and I sat for a conversation with a most fascinating guy at Derby City. He works a full time job and yet has achieved the 7th best Fargorate in the US. Anthony Merlin is a force the full time professionals have to reckon with. Finished in the top four in one pocket last week at Derby City.

Meglino has been around a long time and is no secret, also he is no threat to any top player.

Top 7 in the USA doesn't even put you in the top 100 in the world.

Nice guy, did the right thing by going to College and playing in his spare time(yes, i lived in S Florida), now working a full time job, but....definitely not in the "best most have never heard of" conversation

Anthony hung out in our pool hall for a while a number of years back when he was in our town for work. First time I saw him playing there by himself, I watched him break and run 7 racks of 10-ball in a row. Nice guy, super player, really happy to see him doing well.

See post below the quoted one and connect with yours?

Merlin-giliano did 7 and is a dog vs a top pro.

The pros ability to run a set is absolutely there and the incentive to do so is not there.

Then why aren't they running out sets????

Again, playing by HIMSELF. Everybody looks good until the 1st break.

Again, where are all these sets being run out???

Same reason the race car driver doesn't keep the gas pedal floored for the whole race.

Same reason hockey players pass the puck.

Same reason bike racers don't try to go solo from the start.

Same reason tennis players don't go for aces every serve.

That isn't how winners win.

Yeah, ok, much better to let your opponent to the table instead of running out 🤦‍♂️

I swear to God I thought you were smarter than this 🤷‍♂️

Where was he dis'd? Even said nice guy, I even mentioned the college and full time job, if you can't accept the fact that he's not a danger to top pros you're delusional.

I lived in Ft Lauderdale for 10 years, seen him all the time.

I commented on his improvement from my initial exposure to present...wondering if I was seeing what I thought I be seeing.

Maybe look at his recent results at Derby, if you think he is not a threat to top pros. He's beaten quite a few top pros (at least in the One Pocket).

He beat both Tyler Styer and Fedor Gorst in this trip to DCC.

The premise of this thread is false. Meglino is not under the radar, but instead a very well-known player. He is a solid player who is quite capable in several disciplines, but not a Top 100 player in the world. Nice guy for sure.
You say it so much nicer than I do 😁

You're free to empty out on him next time he plays Gorst, Filler, Shane, Shaw etc. Window is open

Oh, so, you are equating "being a threat to a top pro", with "being a favorite over a top pro"? You're a real risk taker, aren't yah, mr. BigBawlz?

You are being so obnoxious about this... Isn't there an NPR political thread you can go argue in, or something?
