A copy of Winning One Pocket.

Author is dead, it's long out of print. I read it online and figured I'd save the print versions for collectors. Would I like to have a copy? Sure, but I don't see anything in there worth the going price. I mean, it's good info, it would have been especially powerful in the time it was printed, but even then it wasn't selling for hundreds of dollars. Cool piece for a collection though.
So far as I know, Eddie Robin is not dead and his copyright ends 75 years after his death. The online copies are technically copyright violations.

I wanted to give you all a chance to as I'm told "have a chance to get this item at a great price."

The guy discounted it for me from $7100 down to a steal at $6742

Which one of you is selling this?

I know this thread is meant to be kind of a joke but at one time maybe still his book was selling online for quite a bit. Oddly enough though when he first finished it I was at a straight pull tournament in Las Vegas. He had a card table set up out front with the books and he couldn't give them away. I think myself and Grady Matthews might be the only two that bought any that day.

Back in early 1994 they were selling for $40.00 directly from Eddie, with $4.00 shipping. I contacted him when he was near the end of his supply and wound up buying ten of them for a total of $200.00 plus $20.00 shipping. No., I don't have any of the left. Wound up selling the last of them for $250.00 several years back.

The cheapest price I can find online right now is 450-500 for either book. I think good prices are $250 for SM&S and $350 for W1P, but any offer at that price won't last long. There are listings on Ebay that are way high, but they have not sold for months. Not as high as the OP, but up around 800.

The best deal on Ebay right now is the pair for $760. They are signed on the covers and inscribed inside to Les Royal, by Eddie in 2008.

Here is a previous thread about Eddie's books.

In related news, it seems that the Library of Congress has a copy of Winning One Pocket that your local library might be able to borrow for you.

I have two in pristine shape I got from Grady….we had a big argument about then…I wanted to give him the $80 …he wanted to give them as a present….I had to find another way to get him the money…..Grady was a good friend.
The stories in them are worth the price even if you can’t beat anybody at one hole.

BTW…..mine are not for sale.

Unless that's the copy the original seller in this post was selling! :)
