a different kind of game

this game has been around for some time, but I just learned it a couple weeks ago while looking through an old Robert Byrne book.

-2 Ball-

Place a ball on each spot. pretty easy to set up.
begin with cue ball in hand behind the head string.
to score a point, on a single stroke you must:
A- pocket a ball
B- cue ball has to touch the other ball.

He didn't offer any rules so I made up my own.
Balls are always spotted on the foot spot.
if said spot is occupied ball is to be spotted on head spot.
If head spot is also busy spot it up center table
The only penalty for a scratch is loss of turn, keep any points you have already made or even just made and cue ball followed it in or something.
points can be hard to come by...

I have played 4 5point games in a couple weeks with 3 runs of 2 and a high of just 3. If I had to guess my points per inning average it might be .3 or maybe less. This is a hard game, but can be very rewarding.

In the book Mr B writes "George Fels is the only one that plays this game"
I think more people should. If you feel like giving it a try bring your A game, a big stroke wouldn't hurt either.

while checking for spelling I was just thinking in baseball a very good hitter might hit for an average of 300. Maybe not to bad for this game either. hmmm.
