A Feel Good Pool Story

I started playing pool about 12 years ago. Since then my parents have gradually taken an interest in the game. Two years ago they bought a 10 foot Gandy snooker table and I took several days to set it up for them. They have played on the table everyday since then.

Last March my mom was diagnosed with stage 1 breast cancer. This news came as a huge shock to the whole family. I was with her the day of her surgery. She had to have 3 weeks of radiation following the surgery. To my surprise and delight she didn't let the whole process get her down. Even through the treatment she continued to play. She told me that her game actually improved while she going through the treatment and her spirits remained high.

Today she is cancer free with a good prognosis and a better player in spite of the whole experience.

I post all of that to say this. Even in the face of adversity keep your chin up, stay in the game and live life to fullest.

Cheers,
Marcus

Not to many Cancer stories I like. If your moms good with it, I love it. I can think of no better therapy than a played ball sound makes when it hits the back of a pocket.

Thumbs up on your mothers bravery.

Thanks for the story. Good luck to Mom and the rest of your family.

Best,
Mike
