I'm fairly new to cue work but I do have experience in machine work. I started doing cue tips about 2 months ago and I have recently started doing ferrule replacement. The first few ferrules that I replaced were non threaded tenons and I used lock-tite super glue. Worked great.
I now have a Meucci shaft that I'm replacing the ferrule on. It is a threaded tenon and I bought a ferrule that is made/threaded for a Meucci. It fits tight on the shaft and looks good, but I'm not sure what to glue it with. It looks like it was originally glued with a wood glue. I'm thinking a Gorilla wood glue, but should I use expanding or not? What would you experienced guys use?
Next question. What glue do you use for phenolic tips? I just bought some and I'm going to practice installing them this week.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Chris
