I dared to challenge the king and was banned in the land of the "free".

This is what I got for calling a spade a spade when one of the members of Inside Pool Magazine's forum took Scaramouche's list of BCN videos and posted them there without giving AZ or Scaramouche any credit. And then the king of Jimboland condoned it and asked for more content theft. And I dared to challenge him.

So in the end - I was banned from the land where all is supposed to be fair game. I think that is one of my greatest accomplishments on any of these message boards ever. To confront them with their own hypocrisy and get shown the door as an answer.

That my friends is AWESOME!

This is the thread that did it - enjoy Jimboland, where crooks and thieves are welcome and honesty is abhorred.

And Jim, because I know you are reading this, thank you! Thank you, thank you, thank you!!!!!! You can't imagine what this means to me. The ultimate proof of your hypocrisy.

I hope that you and your fellow "nit group" (your characterization) have a wonderful time. Come visit AZ and the other message boards when you need some good content for yours. No one will object when you steal it.

As for SacTown Tom, I didn't have a problem with you because I felt that you were just acting in good faith. But it turns out that you are just as much of an ass as Jim Brennan. Have a wonderful time enjoying all the content you can steal. We, the people who create, will be creating it for ourselves and can support leeches like you.
 
Wow...51 post in that thread and not a single one of them from the people at Inside Pool gave the original poster of the information so much as a "thx for the info".

Was considering registering for that site...but now I think I'll pass.

Oh...and thx to Scaramouche...it was a very nice post and I appreciate the effort you put into it.

It took you this to figure out that Jimbo was a hypocrite?? I never interacted with him here at AZ but after 3 posts from him at IP, I had his lack of character figured out.

What is really funny is Jimbo claims that posting something at IP that was originally posted at AZ is not stealing. But this is the same HYPOCRITE that is all upset at Randy for showing a picture of a cue he took & AZ Mike for making the wrong reference of another pic he took.

Nah, I knew he was a hypo years ago. I just like it when they out themselves so grandiosely. You know what I -forgot- in all this?

Sactown Tom is a moderator over there. At least I think he is. If anyone ought to know better than to steal from other boards it ought to be him.

And if he is the one who did the ban then talk about the pot calling the kettle black. Ya really got em' under control over there in Jimboland Jimmy. If Jim had his own board then he wouldn't need to worry about rogue thieving banning moderators.
 
I find it hilarious that Jimbo thinks his land is so great & then one of his main moderators is over here scouring for good info to thieve & post back at IP. I think that speaks volumes. I thought all the great minds were at IP?

And just an FYI, IP had a table set up at the BCA right in front with free magazines. I must have walked by 50+ times & NEVER saw anyone pick up a magazine or stop to ask any of the cronies behind the table a question.

This banning of yours, John, reminds me of the Emperor's New Clothes. Anybody who has read the pool-related sites on the net over the years is aware of how one bully enjoys "playing with his toys," as he terms it, ripping apart good-intentioned pool folk for the sole purpose of bringing himself enjoyment, as he calls it.

Ironically, the "bully" targeted me on this forum numerous times and once posted to me that I think I am a "big shot" because I "write for a pool magazine," something I rarely, if ever, mentioned on this forum, for obvious reasons. :o

A week later, he was banned from AzBilliards by his own doing and unrelated to me. The "big shot" incident sickened me and mine so much that we both made a decision to effect a few changes in an effort to enhance our lifestyle together, and we did withdraw from certain pool-related areas. In a way, it's been a blessing, I must say. :)

Today, I sure do enjoy reading JCIN's updates and pictures, along with Williebetmore and others. We are fortunate to have such a diversified group of pool folk here at AzBilliards. It is, without a doubt, the BEST pool website on the Internet, bar none, and we all benefit in the long run. Because of the continued growth of the membership on this forum, it just keeps getting bigger and better. Keep coming back, John. Your words of wisdom are very much appreciated by this AzBilliards reader. :cool:

John, I just couldn't read that entire thread... but I can't believe Jimbo had anything to do with you being banned. But regardless, I don't like it. Let them play their little games, but without me. I can and will do without them.
 
Not trying to get into a pissin' match here, but, if you truly had concern for the thread's content....then why did you wait until AFTER you were banned from IP to make a point of it here? Seems your post here would have held more credibility, had it been made pre-ban. Post-ban......just comes off as sour grapes.

Sorry kids.....but I have friends on both sites, and find useful info, again, in both places. I just do not get this 'us against them' mentality...I really don't. The net is an awfully big place...and there is plenty of room for everyone. I hit both sites as part of my daily routine. I find them both to be valuable resources of information. And to be honest, I have to sift through equal amounts of 'fluff' in both places......they're really not so much different from one another.

It's like TV.....if you do not like what's on, change the channel. I just do not get this 'bashing' thing back and forth at all. It certainly does not show us in our best light....to be sure. JMHO.

Lastly......most people who get banned, NEVER think they deserve it. Sometimes they do, sometimes they don't....but since they do not own the site, it really doesn't matter the 'why' of it. But this constant running back and forth between forums, stirring up the $hit, is just childish beyond belief. We really are better people than this!!

Lisa ========> who if ever is banned from a site, will know why, and will probably have deserved it! ;)

After reading Johns link I find it rather ironic that it wasn't Jim that banned him, it was the other guy. But Lisa you are relatively new to the posting game, John, Jimbo, myself were at this long ago in RSB, pre-larry. Flamefests were a common place, these are ego driven males we are talking about. You are talking about people with over 12-14 years of posting history. Head bumping and chest thumping were commonplace. You need to google RSB and if you have about a month, or two , or three you'll see a lot of posts. People who used to be allies are now pitted foes, and vice versa. It happens, much to the enjoyment of many. :D

Very well said. Unfortunately, what brings enjoyment to many, as you state, can be EXTREMELY hurtful to others, especially when the words spewed from their fingertips are intentionally cruel and oftentimes untrue.

I get PTSD symptoms just thinking about RSB.

For a person to go out of their way and target well-intentioned posters with lies and disparaging words, time and time and time again for no reason other than to create excitement for readers, is sad. Giving them a platform to do it in is sick. JMHO, FWIW, and everybody has one.

A. I didn't post anything here before the ban because it is NOT an us vs. them thing. It was an issue of whether it is RIGHT to take content without giving any credit and it was being discussed THERE where the issue was happening.

B. I wasn't there to stir up shit. I was pointing out a breech of netiquette that is also a copyright violation. Although no one really cares about the copyright issue here, me included, I just cared that Tom and Jim think it's okay to take content and not give credit.

C. The ONLY reason I posted this here is because I found it to be totally hypocritical given the reasons that section of that board was set up.
And given that there are in fact people here whose disdain for Jim Brennan equals or exceeds mine I felt it appropriate to share this prime example of HIS hypocrisy. My credibility resides in my posting history - all 11 years of it.

D. I didn't say anything about whether I deserved it or not. On any other board I am SURE that I deserved it. On that one, the self-proclaimed last bastion of free speech on pool-themed message boards I was shocked to find that they have limits to how much truth they can take.

And lastly, you're right, there isn't so much difference after all.

Actually, I believe I joined RSB at the tail end of those fun times....lol. I was more of a lurker back in those days, and a relative newbie to forum life...and y'all scared the hell outta me!!! Lol.

I suddenly got a flash of the three of ya sittin' around like Moe, Larry, and Curly!! ROTFLMAO!!!! No insult intended, btw! Just got that whole eye-poking, head-butting, nose-twisting visual thing in my head....too funny. :D

That's right Joe. The difference however is that a few people take sadistic pleasure in the way they insult someone on the net. Jim Brennan is one such person. You and I have had terrible arguments, Doug and I have had had terrible arguments but we never, and I mean never got to the point of taking pleasure in inflicting emotional pain.

Brennan is one sicko who actually gets off on it. And I don't care who thinks otherwise. If anyone reading this does not agree then I dare you to get into any kind of argument with him and see how fast it denigrates into personal insult hell. I dare you to reveal your true identity and see how fast he begins to rip into your life, completely avoiding whatever the topics are. Go ahead.
