This past weekend was a fantastic weekend for pool!

We had the first Action Challenge Match between Corey Deuel and Shane Van Boening, 10 ball race to 100 - with Grady Mathews and Billy Incardona on the mic - I hope the success continues for these match-ups and I am looking forward to seeing Earl in the next one!

We also had the Fast Eddie's Tour event in San Antonio that drew a stellar field of 97 players. In the end, Double J took out Sylver Ochoa, with Hillbilly Charlie Bryant coming in third place.

In Rock Hill, South Carolina, The Great Southern Billiards Tour had a great turn out of 32 players, including Shannon Daulton, Sparky Ferrell, Jeff Abernathy, and 2004 U.S. Open 9 Ball Champion, Gabe Owen. In the finals, Gabe Owen won over Matt Reed - Shannon The Cannon took third.

In Savannah, Georgia, The J. Pechauer Southeast Open 9 Ball tour drew over 70 players, including Mike Davis, Louis Ulrich, BJ Ussery, Mike Gulyassy, Neil Fujiwara, Stevie Moore, Tommy Kennedy, Ron Park, and Brian White. When the dust settled, Louis Ulrich took the hot seat while Tommy Kennedy and BJ Ussery fought it out on the one loss side. In the finals, Louis Ulrich was too much for Tommy Kennedy (or anybody else) to handle.

Congratulations to Shane Van Boening, Jeremy Jones, Louis, Ulrich, and Gabe Owen on their victories ! Thanks for the promoters and the sponsors of these events, it was quite a weekend for pool - feel free to add any other events that occurred this weekend that I didn't list. All I can say is that I wish every weekend could be as successful as this one!

The Viking Tour in Dallas had a total field of 58 players.

Blackjack, this was a nice thought. Thanks for the post....SPF=randyg

Wow... 58 in Dallas and 97 in San Antonio...
Does anybody have the results from the Viking Tour event in Dallas?

In Europe this weekend the Eurotour Netherlands had 240 players putting up 200 $ each, and 140 players on the waitinglist. Imran Majid won the tournament. Check www.eurotour.nu for more information, rankings, photos ++.

The Qualifier for the World Pool Championship in Manila on Sunday, played in Holland after the Eurotour, had 61 players, and Karl Boyes from England and some German guy (I think) won their way to Manila.

Also there was a 14-1 tournament in Oslo, Norway, this weekend with about 30 players.

So lots of pool this past week! :D

Yep, a good weekend. I've been playing a Saturday handicapped 8 ball event, and won it on my third try last weekend. This weekend I went back to see if it was a fluke, and got 2nd ... still a good weekend.
