A lesson from Irving Crane

There is a lot I am tempted to say here, but I see no use in doing so. So.... all I will say, is that with all the crap and mudslinging on here lately, I find it rather odd that the only person you have singled out, and refuse to take at their word, just happens to be an instructor. And with that said, ........

I hold myself to very high standards of communication with others. If you have some advice for me to better myself as a member of this forum, I am happy to listen.

when I was a young teen and starting to play, I was taught a very low, snooker style address to the shot. and i would pop up occasionally, just like every new player does, whether due to it being a difficult shot, or a shot that's close to the CB. And I was told something that's stuck with me to this day... 'what the hell are you doing bouncing up like that? you've got the best seat in the house when you take a difficult shot and make it, enjoy the show!'

I stole it and tell it to people when we're shooting and i see them pop up like someone goosed them after a shot. Makes me look smart too!

Joe...It is obvious to me that pool school went in one ear, and out the other, for you. One of the first tenets of the SPF methodology is the "freeze" at the end of the process. The freeze is essential for two reasons...one physical and one mental. We've been teaching this for more than 30 years.

As I understand it, a "freeze" is not what Joe is talking about. A fine distinction perhaps, but as one or our more erudite contributors, it's one Joe is well capable and entitled to make.

One udder thing: in all my years of teaching, if there was an important point that I felt was important for each and every one of my students to come away with from one of my classes, I constructed my instruction in such a way as to guarantee that that would happen. IOW, the burden was on me as the instructor, not the student.

If it didn't happen -- I would be blaming myself, not the other way around.

OK Scott, your troll like behavior is noted. You have pretty well derailed this thread for your own amusement and self aggrandizement. You are so far off track that your comments do not even merit a reply. Please, just go away.

For my part I have said what I wanted to say and don't have anything further to add.

There is much I could say but choose to refrain. However, it is worthy of note that I have never had any instruction from Scott.

This thread is supposed to be about Irving Crane. The direction it has taken is unfortunate.

Good ideas are where you find them and Crane (among others) has a good idea here.

:thud::thud::thud::thud::thud:

I would say more but I am speechless.
