I have the opportunity to purchase this Joss West as a player. Pictures are not the best.

Ebony into BEM 4 point
5 veneers (black, purple, black, green, natural)
All original, including wrap

Condition wise:

Obviously a player. A few finish scuffs, no dents/dings. Finish is shiny. I'd say 85%.

Shaft: rolls dead straight. Ivory ferrule. The rings match the butt, but you can feel the dashes in the ring with your finger (cannot on the Butt).

Wrap: Original, but a tad frayed. cleaning and pressing will help, but probably not correct fully.

Butt: Has a roll to it. The center of the wrap comes about a millimeter off of the table surface when rolled.

Assembled the shaft and tip do not leave the table.

Is $650 a no brainer?

Basically it's a no brainer in my opinion
If the roll bothers you, have it repaired, and it would still be a good deal.

I don't see how you could go wrong at that price

650 is good. A handle can be replaced. Also if there is any belly in the table slate it will show light. If the tip doesnt leave the table its good.

Yes, it's a great deal - price should be at least $250 - $350 more. It's an early cue.

Thanks for looking out Grindz. Definitely not the same cue. Lot's of thieves out there in this crappy economy.

Great deal! Sent it to Proficient for a refinish. They do amazing work and they're prices are incredible.

Good deal. Nice find. I love thoses 70's Josswests. Is it 57 inches?

58 inches. Just picked it up from my local billiard shop where it had a little cleanin and lovin. The owner's jaw dropped when I walked in with it. He rated it's condition at 90+%. The wrap cleaned up nicely with just some "character" discoloration. The shaft is glass and the ivory ferrule has very distictive pink/yellowed color and grain to it. The forearm just needed a light wipe/cleaning, and the veneers really pop.

I'll post some better pictures soon.
