A Lovely Afternoon

So today I had the good fortune of spending some time with with my friend, Paul Drexler, inside his workshop at PFD Studios. I've known Paul since either the very late 80's or the very early 90's (I forget which). Today I picked up a duplicate of The Jedi Cue that Paul made for me back in 2018. The original cue is so special to me, I needed to have a second one should the worst happen. The duplicate is every bit as beautiful as the original. For a Pool player and cue aficionado, a trip to Paul's, whether you're picking up a new cue or not, is like entering a magical wonderland. It was great to catch up with Paul and talk about this and that. I hadn't seen Paul since before Covid, but we picked up like no time had passed at all. In addition to picking up my new cue, I had Paul replace a tip on my son's cue and freshen up a couple of shaft tips that needed it. We Pool players in CT are very lucky to have such close access to a cue maker of his caliber. I lived in White Plains when I started visiting Paul's workshop and while totally worth it, the trip was significantly longer then. I need to make sure I don't let so much time pass until I visit Paul again. I think I "need" a new shaft made for my OG Dufferin sneaky pete. Hmmm .

Great story, I was able to spend a few minutes with Paul, years ago. The link to posted showed the cue well.
I was a little disturbed by post #7.;)

One of my favorite cues of all time was a cue Paul made from Buckeye burl, with very elegant silver inlay work. I believe the cue was called "Fountain Pen." Absolutely gorgeous cue.
The cue didn't belong to me, but had I been in the market, it would have.
😎👍
