Have you heard about the new show called Mississippi Men that is premiering on The History Channel on January 28,2015 at 9:00?

From what I could see the characters are going to be involved in different activities to make money along the Northern Mississippi and one of the guys, Mathew Mohlke is a pool player and there will be some of that on the show. From his facebook, it looks like he is a league guy that has been to some bigger events. Matt, if you are on here at AZB, good luck with your TV adventure!

What have you heard? Anyone on here know the guy? Love to hear from our road man/instructor Geno...that is his neck of the woods after all.

I'm not sure if Matt is on here or not, but he is an aquaintance of mine. Ill give him a heads up about this thread. He plays pretty good pool from what I've seen.

Nice guy. Was already growing the beard. Good for the show. It seems like all these guys on shows like this have a lot of facial hair.

If this gets off the ground it looks like a good one.

Matt wanted to take a Perfect Aim lesson but we never really got together except for some basic dominant eye stuff.

Looking forward to seeing this show for sure.

Pool playing on prime time TV...

Hello everyone and thanks for your interest in the show. I've solo paddled the Mississippi River twice and also gone down the Amazon, Parana, and Yukon, so they asked me to spend some time on a raft for a new show called Mississippi Men. Whenever the weather was bad or we had some downtime, we ended up in river bars playing pool. The producers saw the popularity of the game and the interesting gambling aspects and decided to include it in the show. Eventually it evolved into the main component of my storyline. I love playing pool and play in a tourney every weekend. I'd consider myself a low A player, but am working hard on improving my game. Gene Albrecht spent an hour with me on the table in Neillsville, Wi and I learned alot from his "Perfect Aim" training techniques. That was right after he thumped me 5-2 in the tournament. I always seek out advice from players like Geno when I'm at tournaments. The show comes out on Wed, Jan 28th on History at 9pm....Visit my facebook page or History channel's facebook page to see the trailer, or just turn the tv onto the network as there are commercials every hour.....If the pool playing part of the show is popular with viewers, you will surely see more pool playing on primetime TV, maybe even a show solely dedicated to pool.....Thanks for your support everyone!!!!!
 
Right on Matt. Ya know what I like about these type of Reality shows, if you can even put them in the same category.

Probably why I like Swamp People. Life in the Bayous or along the Mississippi is the same now for some as it has been for a hundred years.

Carrying on a tradition so to speak. I find it hard to believe that any type of show of this nature and the people involved has to be sensationalized to any degree.

What we are seeing for the most part is 100% genuine.

Reality Show Themes Are Getting Frivilous

OMG.......every week there's a new reality show announced......fishing for alligators started it all.......next will be a show on UPS delivery people, or how about grocery clerks, or maybe even city union workers, or garbage men.......if you have a camera, you can make everything into a reality series even when the show sucks........not saying this one will suck but the odds are pretty good based upon the plethora of other reality show crap being tossed at the viewing public.......I know, how about a new series with the Kardaschians opening a pool room......people will watch anything nowadays.

I would gladly watch the ladies from that show play pool all day long!:D

Looks like there is going to be several pool shows coming to life this year.

Mississippi Men, She Sharks and Cleary/MikeyFrosts thing(King of cue?)

Time to get in stroke folks, after these shows run a bit there will probably be a new wave of 'pool hustlers' showing up in your home rooms ready for action. This will hopefully create a lil' pool boom that helps everyone long term:)
 
Ok, this airs tonight at 9:00 Central. All the new shows that are coming down the pipeline with pool in them need our support if we want them to have success long term:)
