I thought I would change things up by mentioning a nice thing that happened. The other day, as some of you might have known from one of my posts, I was walking home in the rain and thought my cues were protected. A few hours later I realized that some moisture had gotten into the case and had gotten in contact with at least one of my cues. A new Schon. DAMMM!!!!. The wrap was wet, and the next day both the butt and shaft had a wobble to them. I called a local cue maker (Michael Wagner) Raven Cues. He knew the severity of the situation and the obvious weight this was on my shoulders. I can't afford to loose a cue. He was working on another cue so at the drop of a hat his wife offered to drive forty plus minutes to pick up the cue and despite feeling a little under the weather, he spent several hours working on it. He dried, repressed and sealed the wrap, fixed the shaft, used forced dry air to dry the butt and sealed the weight bolt chamber. And, after all that, no strain on my bank account. I knew
from the first time I dealt with him he was a class act, 100 percent. And every dealing I have had with him has just confirmed this.
It wasn't even one of his cues. I know this may be improper, so please
don't flame me, but I would like to plug Raven cues for a moment. The hit is
nothing like you have ever felt before. Very Solid. If you just play around on
his website you will see why. I have never seen a cue maker put so much effort into the hit as opposed to cosmetics.
Again, I apologize for the plug, but, I am doing this more so to help
you guys out.
PS, Blud, check out his cues, I would love your opinion since your cues are top
notch as well.
